Agreed, They will both look amazing but Gears will have a sharper image, smoother gameplay while KZ2 will have more detailed environments, better particle effects.
you cant really cancel each other out with their pro's and cons because they will both be epic.

That looks a lot better than the previous movie, still dissapointed by the amount of strafing though. Other than that its looking good.

One thing with GOW2 is that I hope they address the map size on Live, couldnt really get into the multiplayer on it as the maps were just so small, once one side got the upper hand it just seemed like 'Spawn, splat, spawn, splat, spawn, splat'. Might just have been me though, but I'd prefer something a bit larger to play in.

Exactly, some people think there's a list of bullet points along side each game and the one with the most over the other one is the better game lol.

Dude this thread is about GOW 2, you could start a killzone 2 thread rather than continue to troll this one up with crappy fmv's. Really, gow will not be on ps3, get over it.

No harm in comparing the 2 games that will no doubt go head to head on release.

GOW2 looks awesome. Can't say the graphics themselves have improved overly. But then again, Gears of war 1 is still one of the most impressive looking games around, so there's not really much need for improvement.
It is just bigger and better as said. And i'm really really looking forward to it.

the certainly does look amazing, huge improvement graphics wise over the original, which in itself is still the best looking next gen title IMO.
Sure people will whinge and moan about the story line, or lack of it. But the first was great fun to play, and this looks more of the same just better, which is no bad thing as far as im concerned.
Please lets not turn this thread into another console war, theres no need to start the whole which is best, killzone 2 or GOW2, the thread is about GOW so lets keep it that way eh

How are they awesome? They look like child's play in comparison to the explosions seen on Unreal Tournament 3 & GTA IV.
They look terrible, in the Playstation day trailer, just undetailed orange explosions, very basic.
Put your glasses on, there is even physics taking place in the explosions ( check out the rocket launcher gif ).
No seriously, the explosions are really quite poor, I don't see how you can think anymore of them, even that Gears of War 2 gif looks a hell of a lot better than any of the explosions I've seen in this Killzone trailer.
The only nice effects is the smoke, the actual explosions just look boring.
