I cant really find much more than everyone should be entitled to a 20min break if their shift is over 6hrs long.
I work a 9hr shift, which used to include an hours lunch break (so, 8hrs paid work a day). This dropped to a 30min break and now rumour has it we're not going to get set break times at all (but we will get some sort of a break when appropriate). I work in the film industry so nothing is done by the book at the best of times, but i'd just like some information on the subject as i think the boss has called a meeting for Monday.
The obvious problem with shortening our break times is that our hourly rate has dropped (and they're getting 2.5hrs free work a week
), but we're on a salary and the contract doesnt specify any working hours.
Thanks for any links. Oh, it's not a desk job either; we're on our feet all day.
