Why the Xbox 360 will win the console war.

...the console war is still going? Where have I been? I thought the PS3 wiped the floor with the 360.

Hmm not a hater just expressing an opinion, imo mgs gt etc are stale examples of their genre, gt5 prologue is as mediocre as expected, i prefer the 360 as ms exclusive games tend to be fairly innovative in gamer friendly ways. Classic arguement of (in mgs's care absurdly camp) style over substance.
Then again just expressing an opinion, I don't think the ps3 will sell that many more and that the 360 will remain popular. The 360 is cheap, has all the latest games and has xbox live and messenger. The whole console war debate is irelevant imo.
Well that's entirely your choice however think of all the people considering a Bluray player, they are offered a Bluray player for £250+ or they can buy a PS3 for £280 and have a superior player and the latest video games console, are you seriously suggesting that as a gamer (which I assume you are reading this forum) that you would pay more to get less (£250 Bluray players are inferior to PS3). Sony is about to make a huge impact on the console market, I've owned a Wii and sold it after a year due to it only being used for the first month in my house and I will grab a 360 at some point. I'm no fanboy but I believe that Sony are going to come out on top. Since the demise of HD DVD the PS3 is in a great position and Sony have played the market with foresight that few other companies can claim. Like 'em or loathe 'em, they are good at predicting the market.
The PS3 also has PSP settings and options in the dash, this will raise awareness and interest in the PSP, I fully expect an increase in PSP sales in the coming months.

This guy is giving you 360 fanboys a bad name with his stupidity. What dead formula do you speak of gran tourismo ( racing game ), MGS4 ( third person action / shooter / stealth ) Resistence ( FPS ).
If these are dead types of gaming then most of the 360's line up are based on dead formulae as well.
360 has plenty of excellent titles ...... innovation, not so much. Evolution, then yes ...just the same as the ps3 titles. Better graphics, extra features and more online aspects to gameplay.
Innovation this gen is the realm of the Wii ( and even that is getting old ).
Gears of war, Halo 3, PGR and Forza are not innovative .... just MS versions of the most popular genres in gaming.
I question your age and how long you have played games ...... there have been very few great innovations in gaming since its inception, most of the genres available today have been around for the past twenty years.

I bought a BluRay rom for my PC with built in DVD and CD rewriter for 80 odd pound from OcUK. A big saving on compared to £280 for a console that I'd only likely use has a BluRay player anyway. Last Gen I only used my PS2 has a DVD player. lol
While I agree that he is being very OTT and clearly a fanboyette, just stepping back a moment, it does seem that the 360 exclusives have 'evolved' a bit better then the PS3 exclusives to date..
Mainly in the social side of gaming, the co-op feature is a standard in most 360 exclusive FPS's, GeOW/Crackdown/Halo 3 have IMO evolved co-op and made it almost an essential requirement, we've had the video recording in Halo 3, the auction house and customisation sharing of Forza 2, etc..
I know good things are coming, but just looking back, I see more 'evolving' of 360 exclusives then PS3 exclusives..
Just a thought, that is all...

That's beside the point, he could have had that PC for ages and bought a cheap ATI 2400 card for about £25 then bought the the BD drive for £80.
A PC is something most people have and you don't need a good one to play Blu-Ray playback thanks to cheap hardware acceleration cards available now.
PC's are damn cheap now too, you can easily build a PC superior to the 360 and PS3 for £430 odd (probably less, my build was from yonks ago) WITH the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD combo drive, but lets not get into that debate.
and by superior I meant graphics and processing wise, I'm not saying the games on the 360 and PS3 suck.

a lot of people like me who visit this forum have PC's capable of running High Definition movies already. I thought I may has swell spend 80 pounds on a BluRay rom than another £280. My PC is in a HTPC case so wouldn't look to out of place under a TV either.
I wish people in the console gaming forum would actually read posts, this is the second time in the last ten minutes or so that I've had to point out that "it's not what he said".
The Wii is winning indeed, but I do wonder how many people have bought them and stopped using them? Mine hasn't been used in months, due to lack of games. I suppose Smash Bros, and Mario Kart are 2 I could get but I dont feel a massive urge too go and buy them.
But then again I havent used my xbox in months either not a fan of GTA so what else is there right now ?

Havnt read the whole thread, but short of some major mess up by Nintendo, i cant see them not winning.
The 360 & PS3 might have more games. Might have more 'involving' games, but numbers speak for themselves, and those numbers say the Wii is doing fantastic.
