Quick question. Is there any way for someone to reverse a bank transfer once its gone into my account? Reason being i'm selling something to someone on another forum with no feedback and 1 post (the post he made to agree to buy the item) so I'm obviously a little worried.

I transferred £250 to the wrong bank account once. It was about a week before I noticed - I rang the bank and they got the money back for me.

I know your situation is a bit different, but potentially, I suppose they could (I may be wrong though).

Ive paid money into the wrong acount before, went into the back a few mins after I realised my mistake and got the extra money I just put in back.

Yes they can be reversed, its happened to me. Basically Mr A got Mr B to pay me money, on my statement it just shows a transfer in and so I sent item to Mr A and then Mr B said there was a fraudnet transaction and so the bank took the money back. Luckily I didnt get to send the item out as boys were ill and couldnt leave the house otherwise i would have been £120 down .

Ask for him to cash over counter instead, that cant be taken back (I hope).

It got reversed in those cases, because it takes 3 workign days between banks to clear. Can be up to five :)

If the funds transfered are as a result of fraud then the transfer can be reversed.
