Do you eat a lot of junk food ?

Age 15: Amature swimmer 6'3" 10stone
Age 21: Student, no longer swimming, influx of cheap junk food, 6'4", 18stone.

Yes, I eat a lot, but it will change when the environment changes. When I move back home and get back into cycling and leave the student life I will sort it out, dont really care about the numbers, just want to lose the love handles.

Its the easy things that are the worst. Went though a spell in my first year at uni, ate lots of Iceland Ready Meals, put on 2 stone in 8 weeks..... not good.

Theres nothing wrong with the odd bit, but as has been said, isnt good to completely ignore or eat to much.

EDIT:

BMI-Chart.png

The BMI chart puts you fairly into underweight snowdog. (having been to many GP practices these things vary massively, so take all reading with a huge pinch or salt)

I eat loads and loads of junkfood, I've never gained weight from it and I'm still very thin, friends have commented on how thin I am multiple times in the past.

Edit: According to that chart I'm underweight, not surprised I weigh about 8 and a half stone last time I checked, I'm around 5ft11.

Your 18. Up untill I was about 16 or 17 I ate rubbish and stayed 10 stone, which for a 6'3" guy was very thin. It all changed though, now I regret my diet. Dont take it for granted, the way your body copes can and probubly will change.

Quite the opposite for me.

Though I'm still waiting for the change to less weight >_>

Oh well, after exams guess I'm off to the gym

Yes, I am a junk food freak. Never smoked, never really done too much alcohol, never done drugs, but am a bit fat bloke and according to that chart, obese, BMI 31.

Ouch :S

If I eat a load of rubbish food for a couple of days in a row I just start feeling like ****. I feel more lethargic / sluggish and less focused.

My diet is good, could be better but certainly a lot better than the majority of the population. I get my 5 a day fruit and veg at least 4 times a week and usually have at least some portions of fruit and veg the other days. I try and eat clean foods and stay off anything greasy / high in saturated fats or refined sugars.

I'm 5"10, 11st at the moment.

Yeah I admit my comment was basically aimed at the relatively small amount of idiots who seem to think that avoiding the odd doner will make them immortal, whereas there is just as much chance they'll be cut down in their prime by something nasty.

That's just how the OP came across to me. He hasn't had chocolate in two months...

Yaywoo.

:/

So let me get this straight, rather than deciding to question me further, you just called me an idiot ?

Perhaps rather than jumping to conclusions it would be best to ask for more info in the first place ?

I actually have never really liked chocolate, even when I was a child and have always had a savoury preference.

Not eatting junk food to me is the quickest way of getting to my goal, I around a week after I stopped eatting junk food had 2 bags of walkers, and realized that I didn't mind em - but I just didn't think they were excellent either. I didn't have a preference between them and an apple... and one is more healthy. So I stopped eatting the crisps and reset the time (it would have been 8 weeks, but is only really 7 now because I tried the crisps).

I am the type of person who told myself I would get to my goal of a 6 pack, and it isn't because I feel I will live forever - but is instead something I would prefer.

I know of to many people that eat like crap, or smoke and drink and have heart problems and a ton of other complications. Eatting perfect doesn't mean you will not ever be ill, but it does improve your life in general.

I normally suffer from bad hay fever, and at the moment it is a lot less noticable than normal. and I had a cold just after I started to change my diet, (everyone at work had it). I normally suffer from colds for quite a while, but this time the effects were far less bad, and I got better a lot quicker.

Bottom line is, I am happy eatting how I eat - and I am not slyly trying to call you an idiot because you are eatting a toffee am I ?

Dont eat it often, maybe get a chinese once every 2 months or so and trying to cut down a bit on the little crap I do eat.

I think I'm one of the lucky ones. I eat junk food around 5-6 times a week and I still have a good body. I don't even go to the gym either. I'm going to kick the habbit of eating all that crap out of bordem and get my arse into gear however and start training again.

Same here.

I'm very slender, only 8-9% body fat, but am at the fatter side of healthy on BMI due to having high bone density.

I can binge on crap, and not put on any weight, my metabolism just burns through like a mofo. My brother and dad have the same genes, and I eat the healthiest of the 3 of us. I can binge on crap at work, but my dinners and weekend eating are usually lowish in fat, plenty of veg (but I don't like most fruit), and carbs.

I'm just lucky I guess...

Yes….

….. I eat a lot of junk food, and its mostly from boredom. I’m very lucky in that I burn off calories quicker then most average men at my age, and I’m also really tall so it seems I can get away with it….

I’ve recently started to try and cut it down, I was eating a lot of burgers with chips, Pizza’s and eating 3 – 4 packets of crisps with fizzy drinks and chocolate daily….

I have always eaten two oranges and either an apple or banana with salad everyday. Its just that I top this off with un-needed junk whilst watching a movie at home, mostly as I’m just bored….

I have also been known to be walking around town, or on a drive and just nip in for a KFC or Mcdonalds… Its too much, as I’ll eat the fruit and salad, but then eat the junk as well….. Stupid, Dominos Pizza is just pure filth, but I still eat the junk…

So, I’m now trying to cut it out, and I’ve not had McDonalds for a while, and I’m cutting Domino’s out as much as possible….. Still eating bags of crisps though, but only 1 perhaps two a day…..

I just snack too much, yet still make a meat and veg dinner, and eat salad sandwiches or chicken salads for lunch /packup….. Therefore, the junk is just comfort food, eaten whilst bored….

Need to condition my mind to not want food when bored…..
