Anyone want to give me a room in Bournemouth? :D

Kind of left it too late with the whole house searching thing again, plus my mates are very fussy when it comes to finding somewhere to live.

I'm wondering if I should just go into uni and live with a random group of people who are searching for an extra housemate? Not sure if this is a good idea?

I've looked at two 2 bed flats in the last couple of days.

One is perfect, bit far from uni (15mins on bus) but it has two nice double rooms, big living room, nice kitchen, bathroom. In a really nice area too.
£320 a month per room, electric is on a pound meter, gas is billed, water is billed. (worked out it will all be covered in our loan, for a 9month basis).

The other house we looked at today is a 15min walk from the uni, but it's tiny, one room is a single, the other is a double, the kitchen is in the roof as is the double room, right next to each other. The single room is pretty tiny.
The weird thing is, it's more of a house share in this giant house, (probably costs a good £1mil+) and to get to our portion we have to walk through the owners front door, up their stars, onto the landing next to their bedrooms, and through a CURTAIN!! There isn't even a door.
£300 a month with all bills, 9 month basis. (broadband is £2 a week, and the old lady does our washing for £2 a load).

The girl I'm looking with wants somewhere cheap, close to uni, even if it's a bit weird.

I'm after something, which I'm not too bothered about on price, with a nice amount of space.

I might just ditch her and get a room in a house I like, regardless of whether I know the people living there or not.

What do you reckon? Got a room for me to live in?

Why not go for the first place? Sounds decent?

Having said that personally I'd try and stay in Winton, as it's easy to get to uni from here. :)

Whilst she may not be too happy about it, see if there are any places with random people, as that is probably one of the easier options. :)

I live in Letchworth and have a room to let, its a good few hours from Uni but its yours if you want it.

A good few?! Two and a half, it's North of London! :p

Its a good 50 min bus journey but have you thought about Verwood at all?

There are shed loads of houses with rooms to let and the bus on a morning has to be double decker due to the students here

Either that or a 30 min bus journey from Ringwood. Plenty of places there also and cheaper than Bournemouth.

I love Winton :)

Spend half my life in the computer retailer's on the high street :D

Cheers for the offers and suggestions. Bit far though, I find a 25min walk just about borderline.

I lived with randoms in my first year, and that went well. I'm hoping I might have the same luck.

The only place I bother to visit it 'easy' as they seem to have decent prices, and decent stock...at least for a 'I broke it, I need something NOW' sort of thing, otherwise I go online. :)

There is one up the road from me, a tiny little corner shop, which sells at vast prices and has naff stock, I'm quite surprised they stay in business actually.

As for places, I just like Winton due to shops being close by and it being a 10min - 25min walk to uni (depending on how lazy I'm being).

Not sure what I'll do in final year, probably fine a single place as I don't like living with others, or live with one of the couple of people I could actually live with and have a 2 bed place.

lol, I haven't started looking yet. I have 4 applications out for IPs and I can't look for a flat until I know where I'm going next year.

I live in winton at the moment near the Hop! lived in cardigan road as well last year, I'd love to live in town just for the night life / proximity to the beach but I'd just end up out on the **** too much! I know people that live in town and just seem to go out every night, just because you can in Bournemouth!
Final year I think we're just gonna go for another house / flat in winton just because it's so easy to go to uni, the gym, the shops, the banks etc. I've heard that some holiday homes on the coast rent to students during term time, which would be a bit of a stress reliever for the final year but my housemates don't drive / ride so don't want to be too far away from uni. I've got a year to decide anyway as I'm moving up to London for my years Internship.

If you on about places for Uni in september then you have pleanty of time. Check Uni halls, they are always a good bet.
