Received my new N82 today... frst impressions...

Mines on a 30 quid a month 18month contract with a web bolt on so I end up paying about 35 quid after everythings added on.
Tell some fibs, get the right person on the phone and you will eventually get the deal you want - honest.

I ended up getting the Samsung Soul free with a £5 discount on line rental, now paying £20.00 a month and broadband for £2.50! :)

Only managed to get that as I asked for my PAC code and the guy asked why I was leaving, I basicaly said I can go to T-mobile or Orange and get five pound off line rental and free phone, Reply: let see what we can do sir :)

would have got the N82 but, as mentioned earlier they only do it in store and they would not budge! on anything :(

Rob :)

is there a difference between the silver/black apart from the colour?

What price should i pay for one off the bay, about "260?

Rang up Orange last night to ask when my contract expired (couldn't remember June/July). Ended up on the phone to retentions who initially offered me 600 mins/unlimted texts for £15 with a fairly rubbish choice of phones. I was on the phone for a while, he thought I said N82 (I wanted an N81 8GB) so that came into discussion. Saw it was quite a good phone, so altered the contract offer and got it for £20 per month for 350 mins and 250 texts. Happy enough with that, if I don't like the size of it, I'll see if I can get the U900. Although this looks ace, comes Weds.

/EDIT: Whats the software like on Orange? Really don't like the Orange UI icons on my SE W850 and my sisters K850.

They're really easy to debrand if you don't like the UI. Took 5 minutes to debrand my O2 N82 (excluding the firmware update). Much prefer the default nokia one.

Phone now costs £30 on all plans on Orange :S
I got it for free as an upgrade at Carphone Warehouse (as a reasonably heavy phone user). Yay.
Orange have rubbish data options and I'm only staying with them as some sort of blind loyalty hoping they'll change. Boo.

It comes pre-loaded with Nokia Maps software, although you have to pay for the voice nav etc. Not really had a look at it yet
