Argh, what to buy next?

Never knew you had totalled the S2000 just seen the thread and you had only had it less than a month. I worked with a guy who wrecked his on the first day. Wonder why they have not fitted these with traction control. Unlucky fella.

Very nice sounding, might be looking at a car with a Miltek fitted this week.

What sort of induction kits are there for it?

Neil.

Apparently according to many on the st owners the miltek sounds good but actually loses power.

Induction kit wise there is the swap over panel filter k+n/pipercross/green stuff etc. Then the k+n 57i which is what I have and sounds great although I need to make some heatshield for it as I reckon the summer heatsoak is going to set in, and then the best but most expensive is the pipercross vis which relocates the filter to behind the wheel arch and with a lovely carbon pipe on it too.

Just got off the phone to the insurance company, they've made their first offer of £12800 which will be £12050 once my excess is removed.

Considering I paid £10900 for the S2K, I'm going to accept that and run with the cash :D

So that's upped my budget a bit to £9.5 or £10K, considering the depreciation these cars suffer is it silly to be spending those kind of sums on a Mondeo?

Went to look at a Panther Black 55 Plate ST220 today, drove very nicely.
Considering the size and weight of the car, it steered quite well and the brakes were just right in feel and assistance. Once moving it's quite quick, not as flexible in gear as I thought it would be but more than enough. Made a nice sound aswell :D

Spec wise, this one had everything including the inbuilt touchscreen sat nav which was nice.

Bad points were two alloys scuffed and three P Zeros with one Wan Li on the rear :/
The rear bumper had a crack in it and looked to be hanging a bit.
The leather on the armrest was torn on the rear.
The worst point, it was Black so showed every swirl and scuff on the paint.

Will give that one a miss I think.

Neil.

Yeah, paid £10.8K and the payout will be £12K after the excess which I wasn't expecting after the hassle I had from Bell on the payout of the Integra :D

Neil.

I wouldnt pay 10k for an St220, you can get a good example for 2k less than that.

What will be the tax on one of these with the new tax laws? I would really like one myself, but Im quite tightfisted at the moment :)

I'm sure its very enjoyable to own its in own special way.

I wish.

Actually its great for putting my mountain bike rack on, driving to and from trails, mpg, cheap to run etc. Especially when all I do during the week is a 12 mile commute.

I would love a new car, but Im enjoying my money in other ways, and dont think I can justify £430 road tax.

Am i the only one with a great big :/ on my face with regard to the ST220 idea :/

After an S2000 :/

Yeah, after the ITR accident it put the premium up around £200 on another ITR.

After the S2K accident, best part of a £1300 extra for on another ITR. The Mondy will be around £1500 for 12 months.

Wonder why they have not fitted these with traction control.

Because they don't need it, they just need driving with respect. If you go too quickly round a wet roundabout then it's unlikely TC will kick in quickly enough to save the resultant slide if you are carrying any sort of real momentum.

Neil, isn't the ST220 going to feel a bit... lacklustre aftre the Hondas?

Didn't feel too bad if I was honest, not as much low down get up and go as the S2K but more muscular once past 3K which I'd put down to the gearing.

The main if not all the use of this car will be motorway as I've got a bicycle to ride to work on during the day which will save me a few quid per week.

Neil.
