Good news: It's just over a month away, but.. Top Gear will be back for series 11 on 22nd June 2008 on BBC 2
(note: the show was supposed to air on the 15th, but has been slipped to the 22nd)
Bad news: There is a rumour that the football might get in the way, so the series may only be 6 episodes.

After a six-month nap in the BBC garage, the irrepressible car jamboree returns for a new series. Preview DVDs were unavailable, but we're promised thrills of the "longer, stronger, faster and better" variety. Tonight, the trio set out to buy a "bargain-priced police cruiser," Jeremy Clarkson roars around in a Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Reasonably Priced Car will play host to not one but two sets of celebrity buttocks, as Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr prepare to take to the racetrack. What's more, it seems there's a mysterious new member of the team, who, according to executive producer Andy Wilman, is "a bit like the Stig, but not like the Stig". All this, and some sound advice about how to deal with rising petrol prices.Hold tight.

Episode 2 of 6
First up, Jeremy renews the age-old Subaru/Mitsubishi battle - fought for many centuries across the supermarket car parks and high streets of the Home Counties - by pitting the Evo X against the new and suspiciously hatch-like Impreza STi. Who's your money on?
After last week's spectacular failure, Top Gear Stuntman is back and attempting to replicate a classic James Bond stunt. And no, it's not the one where that Russian bird crushes the bald man to death with her thighs.
Having deposited several hundred kilos of rubber on Manchester Airport's runway last season with the BMW M5 and Merc E63 AMG, we're heading to pastures hillier to test the latest German monster, the Audi RS6 Avant. The slopes of the Alps, to be specific, where Richard tries to outpace some men on skis with the use of bad French.
Oh, and speaking of German monsters, Jeremy has finally convinced Merc to let him put the awesome CLK Black around the test track. We think he likes it.
Also taking to our test track are this week's Stars In Our Reasonably Priced Car: the Spooks-tastic duo of Rupert Penry-Jones and Peter Firth. Yes, it's two for the price of one again... with added spy powers.
And, as if all that wasn't enough, a charred, blackened friend makes a welcome return from the burns ward. Yes, the Cool Wall is back!

First up there's Bentley's awesome Brooklands. It's one of life's great ironies that supercars are designed to appeal to kids, not the people who can afford them (i.e. middle-aged men who are more interested in having a nice sit down than setting a new lap record at the 'Ring). But with the Brooklands, Bentley figures it has the answer.
JC investigates... by taking the £250,000, 530bhp Brooklands on a quiet sojourn around our Dunsfold test track. Well, we say quiet...
Next up there's a 'Cheap Alfa Romeo Challenge'. Continuing the TG tradition for 'cheap challenges' (think supercars, Porsches etc.) the Alfa task sees Clarkson, Hammond and May buying a bargain Romeo and, well, you know the score...
All our esteemed presenters maintain that you can't be a true petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa. The producers beg to differ, so it's up to the boys to demonstrate the joys of owning a car from the pride of Milan.
In the studio, Gavin and Stacey's BAFTA award-winning actor and writer James Corden is this week's celebrity hoping to add his name to the upper reaches of our celeb board.
Old hand Rob Brydon joins James to show him the ropes, having cut his teeth on our test track in series 3 and setting a lap time quicker than his mate and petrolhead Steve Coogan.
In the news, there are some exciting updates about the Dacia Sandero, and Jeremy continues his new campaign against signs.

Episode 4 of 6
Jeremy kicks off this week by asking some existential questions, but don't worry, he asks them while going sideways in Alfa Romeo's incredible supercar, the 8C Competizione.
It's then Stig's turn to take it for a lap around a track that was well damp to say the least.
More good news this week, James has some exciting details from Dacia about their Sandero, and you the viewers have been sending in some incredible examples of road signs you've spotted. (Its like Blue Peter this sign business.)
The guests come from the corridors of the BBC news centre in the form of Fiona Bruce and Kate Silverton, two of the Beeb's most respected newsreaders. Unfortunately Jeremy has some bad blood with newsreaders after he invaded their offices in his little Peel car.
Let's hope that their two most attractive broadcasters can forgive him.
And the Big Stuff? Well you hear a lot about Japan on the telly. Most of it regarding how baffling the culture is - a strange indecipherable language, completely alien customs and a penchant for eating raw seaweed (not high on most peoples' shopping list).
So It seemed like the perfect place to send the boys for an epic race, that involves Jeremy in Nissan's new monster GT-R against the other two on public transport.
It's quite honestly breathtaking and one not to miss at any cost.

Episode 5 of 6
It turns out that Clarkson wasn't entirely happy with last week's factory limited GT-R, because even though it beat the bullet train it didn't exactly destroy whole sections of the Japanese countryside, or spray power stations with deadly fire breath.
So Jeremy takes it out for another spin on this week's show, this time however he is taking it to a place with no traffic, no speed cameras, no police and most importantly no speed limiter!
A not very little known fact is that Jeremy and James are two men divided in their opinions on almost everything.
Politics, religion, cars and cheese are just a few of the things that they argue about in the rehearsals alone.
What they do agree on though is that they both want to drive some old school luxury, and unbeknown to each other, while they were off air, they both bought a couple of classic luxury cars.
Upon hearing this, the show producers decided that it would be a good idea to send the two of them off to compare their purchases.
Oh, and did we mention that they don't often agree...?
Continuing the theme of luxury cars this week's guests both own Maybachs (they also own mansions, luxury yachts and some Reggae Reggae sauce). They are two of the Dragons from BBC Two's Dragons Den - Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones.
Not that we are ones to get political but most of the time banning stuff doesn't really lead to much fun (unless it's banning crocodile Dundee style hunting knives). This time however the banning of Fox Hunting and the curtailing of countryside off-roading gets turned into a brilliant new sport...
And don't forget The Stig, who's dried off from last week, but unfortunately forgot to wash so now he stinks of mold.
But that didn't stop him from diving into the GT-R; a car that has been a giant killer around the Nurburgring, but will it cut the mustard on the only track that actually matters?

Sunday 27 July
8:00pm - 9:00pm
BBC 2
Episode 6 of 6
James kicks things off this week, driving around Japan in some cars you've never heard of, picking up a couple of interesting passengers along the way.
Back in Surrey, Richard gets his hands on the pig-ugly Gumpert Apollo, and then hands it to The Stig for a hot lap. We know it's a quick car, but you'll have to watch the show on Sunday to see if it's got what it takes to bag a place amongst the prettier exotica at the top end of the lap board.
Top Gear favourite Jay Kay drops in for a chat and has another bash at a lap in the Reasonably Priced Car. Everyone was banking on him to take the top spot on the celeb lap board and wipe the perma-smirk off Simon Cowell's face in the process. The track's dry but the weather is warm enough to take the edge off a weedy engine's performance. 1:45.9 is the time to beat and Jay is hungry for victory.
Finally, the series signs off with a fight: Top Gear versus the Germans, and it's a proper battle so prepare to witness something special here. Just try not to mention the war.
