bit tech news have an article on 'skate it' for the wii usng the balance board

i think this may work depending on implementation

personally i am more excited about the prospect of skate 2 for my 360/ps3

linky

hmmmm i really can't see that working, people generally don't have the coordination to be that accurate with their feet... if they did, they'd be actual skateboarders :D

(speaking from personal experience, the best i ever got was 360 kickflips and that took many years)

i agree, bring on skate 2 on the ps3 ;)

my 'big trick' was 360 heelflips

but my ankles got messed up from stairs and i had to stop

i bmx now [past 3 years]
but cant resist a good miniramp session

im thinking that skate 2 will include walking which i dont want to see

any other speculations?

Don't forget about the DS version as well.

i cant see it working
seems like a cash-in on the franchise imo

i was thinking about a scratchbuild psp version although the analogue stick controls is what sets this game apart so i dont know weather either of the handhelds would be up to scratch

I hope they let you get off the board and walk. It woulda made the game much better (although its brilliant as is), and also the loading times are annoying as hell

you can lay a setpoint, then try a trick, then when you fall, you go back to setpoint and it starts a loading screen although you only covered like 10 metres :(

you dont want to see walking? i think it'd be a great addition, when you go down some steps and mess up the trick and want another go, you have to find a wheelchair route back to the top...

yeah i also bmx'ed for a while but that was before skating for me... this was years ago mind now i do freestyle snow skiing in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer (and i'm still reeling from a massive faceplant on sunday :p)

aah that office is just over the road from me (would be able to see the EA office right now if there wasn't another one in the way), I said exactly the same thing about burnout paradise in the pc games forum. I need to get to know some people that work there...

Didn't skate have a quick reload option? Letting you set a marker and return to it.

Yes mate, but one problem with this, was what i mentioned...

if you crossed a boundry whilst on a run, you would then have to sit through a lengthy load time to get back to your set marker.

which was a total pain in the ass at times to be honest. spoiled a brilliant game

thats good for sessions on a spot but not so good for travvelling

im not completley against the idea of running - i just think it would be a bad idea if it turned out like hawks running system
and deffo not in multiplayer
as long as running doesnt lead to shoulder barges or any of the other rubbish from the hawk series

it should be limited or context sensitive if it is incorporated

local multiplayer needs vast improvement imho
and they need a vastly different map

i dont think the mega ramp is going to be bettered though
