Banjo & Kazooie 3 - X360

When I was playing R&C I was bored ****less at the monotonous level design and boring game play. It's not a scratch on previous versions.

The highlights of the game were the witty quips, but the game itself was about as average as they come which was disappointing. I was impressed by how big the backgrounds were (although the graphics aren't as good as people would have you believe).

I was all hyped about BK3 and then yaboy posted more screenshots and some of them look a little rubbish :(.

Can anyone recommend me any more games like this on the 360, as stated earlier, this game was the only one that came close to Mario 64's greatness on the N64, brilliant game was Banjo Kazooie, never played Banjo Tooie though. But will definatelybe picking this up if its anything like its predessor (sp?)

Some info from June Game informer about Banjo 3

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (360)
- RARE says they didn't want to make a hi res version of the old Banjo platformer.
- You create vehicles with parts you find around the levels.
- GI says their first vehicles was a 4 wheeled kart with a spring attached to the bottom that allowed them to jump things. They later found a helicopter blade that allowed their kart to fly. Later they added balloons to the vehicle and put the blade on the back and created a hovercraft.
- RARE showed them a vehicle that was a monster truck that was able to detach its chasis to become a mini bike. When the bike ramped off a cliff it revealed collapsible glider wings and started flying.
- There will be 1,600 parts including weapons that you'll be able to attach to the vehicles.
- The town is called Showdown Town.
- GI says that despite the large focus on vehicles it still features platform elements from the previous games like traditional platforming, tight rope walking and jiggy piece collecting.
- Showdown Town is 16 times larger than anything RARE has created before.
- Every level has a different intro. Nutty Acres begins with a credits spoof of 80's soap opera's like Dallas.
- Note collecting is back and will act has currency that'll allow you to bu vehicle blueprints.
- RARE says there are 15 different challenges spread across 6 different levels. There will also be side missions.

Some info from Rare from Kotaku:

"Reading some of the comments, it's nice to see that people think the game is quite pretty, but its definitely not a racer, which is what some people think it is," community liaison George Kelion told Kotaku. "You're better off waiting until tomorrow, when we reveal what is for us the most spectacular feature of the game, which is the gameplay mechanic."

Ahh reading what GI says though I see. Its a build a vehicle game but not a racer... I suppose that makes sense.

R&C is a fantastic game, one of the best of this generation and it never fails to deliver. All IMO though.

I think the Banjo Kazooie screenies look more akin to a J&D game than an R&C game.

Anyway, i am a Ratchet Fanboy, you are a Ninty/Rare fanboy. :p

Rare suck, they completely stuffed up Perfect dark zero and don't ever make any games! When was their last release and what the monkeys have they been doing since then?

I agree that R&C is a very good (if a little linear and short but they're bonus plus for me) but the artistic style seemed to lack the flair and passion of the banjo series.

I agree, the very latest screenshots look crap but rare are one of the few companies that don't spice up their screenshots with extra AA, higher resolution and filtering.

Kameo is all I can think of. 360 sucks for platformers.

Kameo? Viva Pinata? They've also done around 4 different Donkey Kong games for Wii & DS.

The DK games are tiny and require hardly any dev time and 3 games in the 360s lifespan (one of which has been developed across many consoles because it took so long to produce and the another is a great but pretty low budget game) is not good going.

OT: You done with your stop now kalanium?

Who was stroping? I just muted you because you were being a ****

You're always stroppy and I'm always a **** when we play halo :p

Why was tonight any different?

Hmm... probably shouldn't talk about it here as it's off topic and people take things too seriously on here so might think we're being serious (that goes for you too krono) :p

I like it when developers show the game with no touching up the image, shows off the engine the way you want to see it rather than making it look better than what it should be.

I have loved all of rares games, thought PDZ was ok at best i think they are ebst to sticking at platformers these days as its what they are best at. Cant fault them at their past work though.

indeed, another game that has just been crossed of my list, was looking forward too a true platform game for the xbox360, looks like this isn't it after waiting so long :(

Based on quite a short piece of gameplay footage? For all you know they could be showcasing a section of the game that focuses on vehicles...nobody knows. A bit harsh to write off a game completely based on 2 minutes of gameplay.
