I haven't been around here much recently, but I've kept meaning to post a link to this:
www.inthebigpicture.co.uk

Basically they want 100,000 photos (by the end of June I think) to break the world record for the biggest photo-montage ever, which will be printed and displayed. The record was set in Germany last year, so there's some incentive for some. ;)

If you have a Flickr account, the easiest way to submit a photo is to tag it bigpicture2008 though you can submit via the above link, or e-mail...

And the reason I've remembered to post this; I won a competition they had last week and my photo is going on a big billboard in Stoke town centre!

P.S. I think it's one of these that have won (comment and critique always appreciated)

I've won three photography competitions recently (and placed in a couple of others) so it's quite exciting times for me.:D

Cheers. :) Nah, they're nothing major (but enough to get me excited :D) - one was with Exodus (the adventure travel company) and the other was Urban Vision (a local organisation promoting architecture). A book and £50 J****ps voucher were mine for those. The placings were top 20 in The Times travel photo comp and a design for the band Maps. I think there was another one I can't remember at the moment.

I've been meaning to post some Iceland photos for a while, so my Exodus winners were:

(I now think this would be better if I cropped the bottom off to the waves beneath the cliff)

Those landscapes are mental! What a place.

BTW is that a dead CCD pixel top left on your second?

Looks like it's Superman to me.

Very nice picture of the cliff (cant se eotehr one atm because im in work and it wont load). Where did you take that photo?

It is a bird, probably a puffin as there were thousands. I was wondering if I should clone it out; now I'm thinking I definitely should have!

I don't know where exactly that photo was taken...somewhere towards eastern Iceland.

This is the photo that's been chosen for the billboard. I'm disappointed now as I don't think it's very good, especially not as good as the other 3 I entered (posting image directly wouldn't work).
