North West 200

Are you going up on race day or are you staying over on Friday night? If you're going up on race day, aim to arrive there before 0900, preferably earlier as the traffic is an absolute joke after that.

The best spots are anywhere along the coast road which you can walk up and down to find the spot of choice.

Think I'll just go on race day. Staying over will probably be a rip-off. Will be good fun anyway. Will have to be up early for the long trip up from Armagh.

Is this being shown live on TV this year? Or is it repeated in a few weeks like it has been before? Road Racing is incredibly impressive, and makes very good TV.

EDIT: Reading, its a great new thing! lol

there will be speed cameras everywhere on the main roads down, esp on the bridges of the motorway around b'mena - vans setup to catch rear numberplates after they go under the bridges - only way they can get bikers

weather forecast is good so far for the practice nights too :)

I would normally head up on the Friday night, but can't make it this year.

Hopefully the weather stays like it is this morning!

Is anyone going to the campsite in Portrush? It looks like a few of us might be camping out now.

Hey Scuzi,

Me and a couple of mates will yet again be going up on Saturday morning (leaving around 6am as per usual!).

You don't have pit access this year? :P

Part I'm worried about is that my epileptic friend is asking for a ride on the back of my bike. He hasn't had a seizure in a good number of months, but I'm still doubting whether it's a good idea...

Is he on anticonvulsants? If so, they are quite effective in my (albeit limited) knowledge.

Well, he just told me he had a "wee one" last week. So that's me effectively scared off the idea. I'll probably drive up now, as it'd be unfair on him to leave him behind (he used to have a ZX-12R before he had his licence revoked due to being diagnosed with epilepsy).

So looks like an early morning start along with traffic. Balls.

Scuzi, where are you going to be parking - I have no idea where I could park a car there...

Last year I abandoned the car on a footpath up some wee side street. I might just park at the university in Coleraine and dander up or if we're up early enough on Friday, we might get a spot in the campsite.

Well I won't be able to go up on Friday night due to my friend's 21st on that night, so it'll be a very early start on Saturday.

Can't wait! :D Got my face burnt off me last year, hopefully the same will happen again!!

scuzi i sent you a wee e-mail. I take it your camping on friday now?

is there any way of watching it without using the 'red button'?

what does the red button do exactly? i only want to plus+ it....

Check out BBC Northern Ireland. If you're on Sky it's one of the 9xx channels.

I just replied. I *might* be camping but the weather forecast is looking rubbish and camping is no craic if it's wet. I'll be going up on Friday and if I don't stay I'll be coming home and driving back up on Saturday morning. I'm waiting to hear back from a mate to see if he needs a lift or not. If he doesn't I'll have a spare seat.
