whatever you want to call them...
I live on the coast in north east scotland and there is quite a lot of farmland surrounding the area, so come the summer months lay-by's etc become plagued with scummy caravan folk who travel here to pick daffodils and the like for money.
Now I wouldn't normally be too bothered about this, apart from the fact that they trash whatever place they stop, leave tonnes of crap behind and there are always loads of break-ins/things going missing when they are around (coincidence?). Oh yea and one of them also stabbed someone in a town 10 miles from mine a couple of weeks ago.
About 2 weeks ago 2-3 caravans appeared in this council owned bit of land next to a very small industrial estate about 0.5 miles from my village, then last week there were 6-7 and I looked in today and there must be at least 10 now. Last year when they stopped in that area, a business in the industrial estate mysteriously had ~£95000 worth of marine grade stainless steel go missing out their yard...needless to say their security has been stepped up.
It's a small village which never has any issues with security/robbery until people like this appear - the type of place you can leave doors/sheds/cars unlocked with no worry, so when this happens people get really ****** off.
So the bottom line, does anybody know who to complain to or how to initiate a writ being produced to get rid of them? They have been moved on from local areas before by writ bearing coppers, but I don't know who makes that happen
