Travellers/gypos/tinkies/scum

so nobody has any tips on who to contact? Our local police station doesn't exist anymore, I guess I could try the police station in the next town...

I've also contacted our local council as it's council owned properly but I doubt they'll give a crap. Hopefully the farmer next to the site will report them the instant some of their mess crosses on to his land

Dont. look what Mickey did in Snatch ;)

it's ok, they're not the irish ****** - they come from a radius of like 100miles maximum...and are all fat and probably weak due to inbreeding, so without their shotguns and spades shouldn't put up too much of a fight

Have you noticed that when they leave a spot, there is always one shoe left behind? One shoe just lying there looking sorry. Every time.

I ****ing hate tinkers.

just emailed my copper mate to see if he has any tips, although he'll probably recommend bricks and/or fire as he's off his head

I think everyone suffers from "a visit" every now and again. It's not coincidence that trouble comes with them, they are the most dodgy, untrustworthy, trouble making people going.

When they were last in my area, burglary jumped through the roof, as did car thefts, theft of alloy wheels, two of them stole a car and were speeding along the top of my road and didn't notice the T junction at the end and drove through a wall into a house.

Also heard about their scams (selling laptops etc and switching for a laptop bag full of milk etc).

It culminated in them getting on the wrong side of some of the local drug dealers. They got in an altercation and stabbed one of the dealers. Two days later, two travellers were stabbed and one died.

Shortly after they moved on, leaving a mess as usual. They haven't been back since to my knowledge.

I dont feel bad about it, they come and commit crime and are a general nuisance. They are hated by the general population and thus they dont care about causing trouble, or the people they victimise.

The police can do nothing as their hands are tied by red tape. Unless they are caught in the act that is. They know every loophole and know what their rights are and thus pretty much get away with murder.

People are unlikely to get into confrontations with them as they have nothing to lose and thus fight very aggressively.

Sorry if this sounds negative, but I cannot post anything positive about a group of people who have caused nothing but trouble over my 25 years when they "visit" my area.

Reminds me of an incident a few years ago, some gypsies set up camp on a piece of land owned and used by a local fellow who used it as a motorcycle test training area. Once they arrived they would not move on, so the guy could not operate his business. He eventually got a bit frustrated by this so hired a JCB digger and went at their caravans with it :O I know he got arrested for doing this but never did find out what happened to the guy!

Best story I heard was that a construction firm had loads of tools nicked so they took JCBs along , dug an 8'x8' trench around where they were laid up and used the earth to make a huge mound just beyond that.

Few years ago, they set up shop near a retail park near me. There was some type of sofa company (leatherleaders or something) They broke in one night and took EVERYTHING every display sofas warehouse stock they where left with an empty shell in the morning. If I remember even canteen chairs etc where taken. It must have been a massive operation, either totally stupid or well thought out not to get caught in act.

There were running battles a year or two ago at a gypsi camp north of Edinburgh. Apparently something happened to a girl who had a connection to the local hoody gang down near the shore where the caravans are.

The following three days were like a warzone, local gangs (with numbers in the hundreds) wanting revenge for whatever happened and the gypo's fighting 'their' ground. Three of the guys involved were shot within one week (one dead iirc), several caravans overturned and burned. Few flats in the estate firebombed as a retaliation.

After that, the kids/gangs started stealing cars setting them on fire then driving/smashing them into the gypo estate at hight speed.

After that they left. There are one or two back, but not the same numbers.

Really crazy week down by the beech that one!

We get pikies around here quite often. Nothing buy aggressive, violent, thieving dirty scum, the absolute lot of them. Always causing trouble, littering, basically being a blight on society. Hate them with a passion.

well here's what a policeman has to say:

The reason that they have set up on council land is the council seem to have some ****** tolerance policy of gypos when they set up camp. They always take ages until they take any action until they move them on and usually provide them with toilets, bins etc (none of which they use, they just **** all over the place and throw their rubbish on the ground). Your best line of attack is contact the Evening Express - they certainly used to have a healthy hatred of gypos and will put pressure on the council to do something. Don't round up a possy from Gourdon and Bervie and have a go at them. If you do that you will probably find that you have about 150 caravans arrive and they'll bring firearms and all sorts of weapons - all the gypos from all over the country are interbred and although they fight with each other half the time, when anything happens to one of them, they all flock on mass to seek their revenge. The problem the Police have with this shower of ***** is that most of them don't have birth certificates, know their date of birth and usually go under half a dozen names - so they don't give a **** about committing crime as they are very difficult to track down, especially as they are constantly on the move.
