Quick! Noctua S12 + TR UltraExtreme120 vs Zalman 9700LED?

Hey folks,

I'll be building my new system tommorow;

Asus Rampage Formula X48
Q9450

I have a Zalman 9700LED, but wondered if the Thermalright ultra extreme 120 paired with a Noctua S12 fan would do a better, and quieter job?

Well I setup a Q6600 system over clocked to 3.6 with no issues on a TUE120 and two Noctua S12 fans, run them off speedfan and they are nice and quiet, can hear them a little if I full load the CPU and they run @ 100% but for day-to-day you wont here them (or well atleast i didnt!)

The Thermalright would be better and quieter, yes. But you may need to lap it to get the best performance from it.

And the CPU as well, else you're doing half a job, and could be making things worse by lapping just the HS.
