Guitar Hero 3 how to play like this?

I actually found the pad harder when I tried it but I guess with a little practice (I only had one go) I can see how it can be easier, no cramp for starters :p

I'll still continue to mock anyone that plays with a pad, it defeats the whole point of the game.

Huge advantages to playing with the guitar (pre-holding notes), Fast strum passages like Knights of Cydonia are possible, Hammer ons actually make sense and give your strum hand a break.

Also if your getting cramp your probably holding it wrong.

And yes pad defeats the purpose of the game :p

Just practice with the guitar. It's far much more fun than with a pad, and much easier, especially when the songs get harder.

We Three Kings isn't a particularly hard song at all compared to some. Take a look at this Video of "Through the Fire and Flames"

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=W4M7f4-bhbE

It can take months of practice to get up to expert level, but if you start on medium/hard and just work at it you'll get there soon enough.

Also many of the fast bits in the songs you don't need to strum all the notes, but you'll learn about that as you play through the tutorials.

Just remember. Practice practice practice!

I have the european version obviously, but I have a US PSN account, i have downloaded the free bonus tracks like We Three Kings but my game wont pick up on them. Anyone else get this problem?

Practice - you can see that the person in the video isn't using the controller (you can see him pressing the notes before he strums)

Have you seen the video of the small child playing Through the Fire and the Flames on Expert? He barely strums - it's pretty incredible!

I can't hope to play like that however!

Yeah I have, he's incredible. I think he was an extremely talented guitar player before he started on guitar hero, or so I've heard.

Sometimes you've just got to tell yourself to enjoy the game knowing that you'll never be able to do some of the later songs. But that said, in a few months or so, maybe you'll have improved enough.

Practice practice practice.

Some of these guys are just amazing at the game, I guess you are right though, practice makes perfect so I will just keep button bashing :D

Having played guitar helps. You have an idea of timing and better co-ordination. But anyone could learn through the fire and flames on expert, if you play it enough. You could end up playing it so much you just know what notes to press.

I dont think its a matter of playing guitar before, its just a matter of knowing rhythm, some people have it some people don't. Also the ability to do different things with each hand, my friend can only play GH by strumming each note at the same time that he presses the fret button.

When i first started playing i got to abou tier 4 on medium and thought i would never be able to get any further. 4 months on and I almost 5 starred all of hard and have got one tier left to go on expert. Its all about practice!

I'm guessing you'll have needed to download them on a UK account but i'm not sure as I don't own a PS3. Use a Euro account and see if that works.

Guitar is of no help what sover, just having a sense of rhythm is. Put it this way, my brother played guitar for 4-5 years before getting guitar hero, after 2 months, he was just going through Hard. iamchris4life on scorehero had never played guitar, only DDR, but after 2 months, he 100% Misirlou.

Your mate would love GH1 then, as that's exactly what you have to do as the HO/PO's don't work :p
