I present Ra and Amun
They are very scared at the moment but have eaten and done their business. We've left them in the kitchen to explore and get used to our house now.

They are 9 weeks and we got them from someone who's female cat had had an accident with the local tom :).

I wanted to adopt some rescue cats but we fail the adoption criteria because we have a 4 year old child and because we live within 100yrds of a road :S

Where were you trying to adopt from? I think you'll struggle to find any property less than 100yards from a road. Certainly they (animal sanctuary) didn't require that when I adpoted my two (mother and kitten).

That's rather limiting to prospective owners don't you think

It almost entirely eliminates chance of adoption within the city- Even living in my countryside house back in Somerset I am within 100 yards of a road

I take it that this company are extremely uptight :p

whistle to your cat when its feeding time, then it will associate the whistle with food

i can now call my cat by whistling, just like a dog, becuase it thinks its going to get food

I do this too. But just one caveat... make sure you at least give it a small amount of food every time you whistle it into the house. Cats will soon start to ignore your calls if they don't see results!

My parents got a rescue cat when they had me and my two brothers ages 5, 3 and 1.. as well as being about 10yrds from a road, those are some seriously strict rules O.o

We managed to tempt them out from behind the fridge for a cuddle. They seem pretty chilled but have now retreated behind the microwave.

Nice cats:).

I remember when we first got ours: she hid in high places for about a week before she got the confidence to walk around.
