Scientists in the United States are fleshing out the evidence that links the modern bird with the fierce Tyrannosaurus rex based on skeletal studies. Also, recent studies of T-rex protein has backed up the theory.

Harvard biologist Chris Organ said: "These results match predictions made from skeletal anatomy, providing the first molecular evidence for the evolutionary relationships of a non-avian dinosaur."

Another researcher added that extracted T-rex protein "groups better with birds than modern reptiles, such as alligators and green anole lizards."

Humans Came Close to Extinction, Study Says

An extensive genetic study by researchers at Stanford University suggests that human beings nearly became extinct about 70,000 years ago, apparently because of a drought. The population may have dropped to as low as 2,000 individuals.

Researcher Spencer Wells calls the finding "truly an epic drama, written in our DNA." Human beings emerged in Africa about 200,000 years ago with "mitochondrial Eve," the mother of all humanity, and spread to other places 60,000 years ago.

Little has been known about the intervening 140,000 years, but the new study suggests that severe environmental conditions between 135,000 and 90,000 years ago forced people into tiny, isolated groups. The worldwide human population today is 6.6 billion.

Karma in it's finest element eh? :p

TRex- Y'argh! I can eat everything! :D (yes he is of pirate descent)

[insert karma and millions of years]

Chicken- Everyone eats me!

Roast T Rex just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow. Cool though.

I don't understand why you are saying its old news ?

Most people wouldn't know this and find the thread helpful, and if it wasn't posted on OCUK within the past 6 months there is a good chance most people would not have read it / would have forgot it / missed it.

I really don't understand peoples need to say "old" every time someone posts something , if it was done like a week ago fair enough.
