I haven't really started playing it so i can play either without losing too much progress

So would you guys say its worth buying the PC version (bearing in mind i have a 3870x2 so dx10.1) or play it on the 360
I do have a wireless reciever for the PC so can use the xbox controller on either if needs be

PC for better graphics and a better framerate.

Part of me wants to say don't bother with either because the game is a repetitive piece of crap with terrible one button combat and extremely linear progression.

Oops!

There's a bug in the game at the moment that means wireless 360 controllers aren't recognised by the game. Wired ones are fine.

You can still use a wireless 360 pad - you just need to map the controls yourself.

I see you've already started playing it so the purchasing decision isn't really there any more. I've really been enjoying Assassin's Creed. It appeals to me because I value narrative over gameplay mechanics. The narrative and setting are very well done, I think. Yes, it's relatively repetitive if you choose to play it that way but you have some freedom to do otherwise.

Unfortunately most players will approach it in the way that seems easiest and will revert to doing the gamey stuff. I think it would be a dreadful experience if you reduce it to combat , free running and flag collecting. It's a lot more fun if you plan, experiment and find out just how much of the game contains snippets of historical detail.

Works perfectly for me with a wireless 360 pad on both Vista + XP.

Much better than the 360 version (which I have completed as well). Gfx are much sharper and better looking with very little loading time but overall the PC is just a more polished version with a few extra side quests as well.

If you like free roaming games then this is one of the best it is repetitive but then again so is almost every other game nowadays so not really a valid reason not to like it.

It is a reason...lol

You do the same thing in the same order to progress for every level, now I know most games are repetitive in their own ways but nowhere near as much as Assassins Creed!

No more than GTA4 where you have to complete a few samey missions to get the next part of the game to progress. You either like this type of game or you don't either way the PC version is a lot better than the console one.

Worked fine here without having to map them

For people that have the wireless 360 controller working correctly - which version of Windows are you running?

I say PC, coz i'm not a big fan of consoles... hehehe!

The graphics on PC are awesome depending on the machine played on.

I've got it on the PC but a few of my friends have it on the XBox

Graphics look stunning on both - I'm using Vista and an HD 2900XT. I've avoided patching it for the aforementioned reason!

I'd personally go for the PC version as you get a few extra missions (and it seems to play well). I'm using the wired X-Box 360 pad and it's fine - it does play better with the pad than with a mouse and keyboard IMO

PC will probably look better. But X360 has two advantages
1. wireless control pad will work for sure (keyboard for this game is not viable)
2. you can play it from your sofa, so when you fall asleep from boredom you won't have to go to far ;)
