Anyone done one of these?, has to be in the North East. It's my birthday this week and my parents keep badgering me as to what I want :p

Always wanted to do something like this but I'm wondering which place offers the best sort of value. If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated :D

somebody on here had one.

They got it given them, so on the whole couldnt complain much, but they said they werent allowed to drive the car fully, instructor kept using the dual controls to slow them down in the corners, and you only got a couple of laps in the ferrari

Most of the experience was taken up driving other cars.

The general rule here is that you need to spend a lot of money. Any cheap experience day, or one which offers 'good value' will be rubbish. You'll drive old cars, for a limited amount of time, usually a 3k/4k rev limit, and a speed limit. If you want to thrash an F430 for a day, it's going to cost a lot.

Can do them in Croft. Do the LP640 one. Im sure someone on a different forum managed 159mph or something.

I don't wish to spend the whole day though. Only after a few laps.

The 355 Taster looks Ok. Will chew it over. On the other hand is karting with my uncle and cousins which I actually think will be more fun. Hmmm

I went on a DB9 experience, 4 laps and no dual controls being used. The instructor was very good, he'd let you accelerate hard, overtake and tell you when to brake for the corners and which gear to be in etc.

Cost was £99 and it was with http://www.everymanracing.co.uk/ at a track in Leicestershire so might not be an ideal location for you

i did the 355 experience at the same place, same no dual controls, good instructor etc.. 4 laps + did a couple in a focus rs to get used to the track first.

I got my dad a Lamborghini Murcielago experience gift pack, I think it was from buyagift.com was £299 anyway. We arrived late due to getting lost our booking time was 10.00 we arrived at 2pm :( So the Murcielago had gone, they let him into a Gallardo egear instead so wasn’t too bad, basically he had a training course then 5 laps in a Subaru Impreza STI, the he got let into the Gallardo to do 5 laps there wasn’t any dual controls or the like, it lasted around 3/4hrs and was a very good day out and well worth the money :D

That does look rather good. Thanks for that.

I had one, but let it lapse was supposed to be at silverstone, i renewed it for another £25 and let that lapse too, wife wasnt best happy at wasting however much it was :(

Got a supercar experience (http://www.udrivecars.com/show_product.tpl?prod_id=33) for my 21st.

They had dual controls - but didnt use them.

You think its all about the cars, but personally I found the instructors to be just as important. They talked you through the circuit, braking, line, gears. It was very good. Asked you to shift up around 5k, and i didnt try pushing them :D

N.B. I found the ferrari probably the worst car :p

I agree the instructors are spot on, ive dont TT and Formula Audi at Brands Hatch and Lotus Elise at Rockingham, they were fantastic on both occasions, you think your going quickly until they take over and do a hot lap! amazing :D

Only qualm with the hot lap was they took quite different lines, and broke a lot later than they were telling me to.

Did make me realise how much of a granny I was driving like though. Gotta treat those brakes like rg-tom :D :D
