Anyone play their 360 to do death from launch and it still works?

I'm intrested to know if anyone has had their 360 since it came out and had no issues with it? I mean surly these people that get through 3 or more 360 must just be complete idiots that don't look after their stuff.
No, they're just terribly designed machines. Mine's not broken yet but I am prepared for three red lights every single time I turn it on, it's something I almost expect it to do one day.

Mine sits horizontally on a glass shelf with nothing blocking the top, back or sides. It's not a Falcon.

I know a few people with release consoles that are still running fine although 1 of them must be a bit worn as it wont open when the console is stood up but works fine when its on its side.

I've still got my launch console but it had 3 red rings two days ago, turned it off and hasn't repeated yet but sure it's only a matter of time :( fortunately I have an elite upstairs as a backup so my GTA4 progress won't be halted!

I do sometimes wonder just how many of the 18 million 360's sold have been bought by someone who already owns one and wants a backup due to the RROD?

Seems to be a fair few people just on these forums with more than one 360. Doubt there's anywhere near as many people with 2 PS3's or Wii's!!!

Very true, I actually want my original to die so I can get it replaced with a newer model!

Not arguing with you but who would need two Wii's? its just not that kind of console and with PS3's being most expensive of the three you wouldn't expect a lot of people to have more than one.

To me it makes sense that most folk who own more than one of the same console would go for the 360, without even taking RROD into account.

For me it would make more sense now to own 2 ps3's. One downstairs as a Blu ray player for watching films on a bigger screen and one upstairs for gaming.

There's little point in owning two 360's now HD DVD has died unless you have one Modded or as a back up. WHich is why I have two, one for when the other fails.

My brother's 360 sees 3+ hours of gaming EVERYDAY (sometimes he plays it for up to twelve hours on the weekend). He's had a few 'disc is unreadable' messages from GTA:IV, but other than that, it has been solid as a rock. :)

I thought it was a design flaw that causes the failure. So in theory the unit will fail after a certain number of cycles and between a range of cycles just like any product. The only difference is that the flaw lowers this range of cycles to an unreasonable amount which most people will exceed in the products lifetime.

Played my original launch console loads then sold it on to my cousin who also plays it a lot, it still works fine!

It's a Nov 2005 console but I actually got it in January as my first 360 broke in December.

Like anyone could afford two PS3s.

They're actually really well designed apart from 2 stupid flaws they refuse to fix:

1- put some stupid little foam pads in the optical drives so if a disc becomes unbalanced it doesn't scratch them.

2- Why the hell are they using a torsion based heatsink attachment system!!!

Are either of those cost issues or just stupid design flaws?
