Which of the models sold in The UK is BC?

thinking of getting one after exams but I still have a load of old games I'd like to be able to play.

what is the likelyhood that there will be a firmware update or similar that will enable bc for ps2 games on the 40gb?

If your after the back catalogue of ps2 games i will sell you an add on for your tv that will allow you to play them for 40 quid.

You can just by a PS2 for around 60 quid 2nd hand usually.

I've seen 3 go for 80euros recently on my works site (which is usually overpriced as well)

i am sure the 40G will be compatible in the near future with a software emulator patch. I would bet an announcement at E3 or Leipzig for a fall release

I very much doubt it, the longer it is after release the less and less likely it is that customers will want backwards compatibility, especially as Sony would want them to be playing (and buying) PS3 games.

I'm just annoyed that Odin Sphere has finally come out in the UK but i no longer have any means to play it... i really do hope they introduce emulated backwards compatability, it's definately possible with the hardware.

Sad thing is, I've played more PS1/PS2 games than PS3 games on m 60gb PS3. As for PS2 games being on the PSN store, unlikely, maybe for the PS4.
