Proof of grades

Lol, maybe i should. So theoretically i could change my D in maths on my CV to a C and i wouldn't be asked to bring proof of my gcse's to an interview?

It's quite possible that an employer will ask to take copies of your certificates to keep on file. I've had this happen in 2 jobs although usually they are more bothered about professional qualifications rather than GCSEs. Lying would be looked upon in a dim light.

No, some employers do and some don't.

Even if you do get away with deceiving your employer, if they find out they will drop you like a shot.

Depnds on what kind of job you are going for.

I suppose labourer in a building site wouldn't require any GCSEs.

However, chartered accountant would require proof more grey matter exercise.

Depends on the job, if you going to work for a larger firm, then they will have an agency which verifies the dates on your cv's and your grades. I got a phone call from them once, coz i forgot to put on my CV 3 months traveling.

they also check if your degree is legit, but for gcse i dont know.

You don't tend to write what you got for GCSE grades on a CV anyway, if anything you would put something like:

"Achieved nine General Certificates of Secondary Education at Grade (B for example) and above."

Unless you have just come out of school and are looking for a job, then as you have no other qualifications, it might be important.

Unlikely. You're saying someone who is excelling at their job put that they got a A rather than an B at GCSE level and subsequently got found out years later would be fired? Highly unlikely.

Employers don't mind having people in their team who use deception as a tool to get ahead? Shocking.

I don't think employers are too bothered about your GCSEs just say you have X no. of them at X grade. I've never had a employer ask to see proof of them.

Probably not but a lot of employers do have clauses written into their contracts that any deception or fabrication in the results achieved etc can result in instant dismissal. It does seem like rather a silly risk to take but the chances are pretty small you'd be found out for a GCSE result if you had a degree for instance.

If you are young and/or it is a first job then you are more likely to be asked for your most recent qualifications I'd have thought - I was asked for my Standard Grades when I got my first job.
