How to deter cats and dogs from dumping on my lawn?

Meh, go one better:

Not really legal, but should be fairly humane if you get a head shot. Do it from about half a mile away (or even a mile if you're good), nobody will ever know. Remember, a good sniper never takes more than one shot from the same position.

Bit of rope doused in Jeyes Fluid is what my next door neighbour used to do, our cat NEVER stepped over the hedge!

We had a problem like this last year, I don't know where my thread was and loads of suggestions popped up like shotguns, mustard, kick in the ovaries, keep a tiger, urinate back on it.

Some that were worthy ;), where ultrasonic wave gadgets, tiger poop (?!?!) and sorting out the cause. In my case, bird seed we had started putting out had started to attract cats, who by seeing no competition of their own (um), started defecating in our garden. No bird seed=no more cats.

:D

My next door Neighbour’s cat ***** in my flowerbeds all the time, and doesn’t seem bothered if you throw things at it or shout at it.

There’s been a few occasions I’ve been tempted to shoot it, but I think people would notice if I laced it with a shotgun! :(

Fence + your own dog. The fence keeps your dog in and others out. Get a real dog and you'll never worry about cats, other dogs (or burglars :p) again ;)

You can get them sonic emitters or radio emitters that keep cats off the grass, as for dogs, just do what my friend did, bag it up and throw it at the person.

as a cat family I can safely say orange peel keeps our cats out of flower beds and plant pots. I guess if you maybe grate up some orange peels and put in in the grass...?
