Interesting program, is anyone else watching? It's just started.

It's about a reverend who helps non-terminally ill people commit suicide.

Surprised he hasn't been jailed yet?

Yep, im really confused, is he assisting suicide but also wants to kill himself as he has no money?

And was that client of his wanting all his clients incase he went before her? Confused!

Also LOL at the theory of him getting sexual arousal.

"assisted suicide is not a crime" supposedly.

That's basically the message of the whole documentary, and you can get that after 5 minutes. I thought it really dragged, and was a bit of a let-down. All in all a very dull documentary, which wasn't helped by it's monotonous narrator.

I agree it is very dull in the way it has been shot and the boring guy doing the interviews doesn't help. This guy george is very disturbing tho, i'd compare him to a serial killer. For the most part the people he assists are not even suffering a lot of pain or a terminal illness

Why does that matter?
Assisted suicide is something I actually agree on. If people want to take there life then why shouldn't they. Freedom of choice.
Trouble is how do you decide if someone's mentally ok.
And where do you draw the line, at giving information or actually prescribing drugs, or actually injecting.

Suicide used to be against the law, hence the term 'committing suicide', as in committing a crime. Now, however, it's not against the law, but the term 'committing' remains. This leads me to agree with the perspective that him assisting is not illegal, as no criminal act is taking place...am I wrong?

My view on it is,

In my life i know its very short so i make what i have of it.

If i wanted to take my own life, and i dont think i ever will... i just cannot see it i dont want to talk to some freak in my last moments on earth.

but is it classified as suicide or murder.
Have they actually removed it from law? or so they just never prosecute?

Im not sure committing suicide is illegal...due to the fact your killing yourself, once your dead, they cant lock you up?

Yes, but you're not far off. The documentary stated that assisting a suicide is illegal, but the law will be lenient if you're assisting a terminally ill person to die (and the chances of getting prosecuted for such a thing are minimal).

Though I think it was talking about UK law, so it may be different for USA or other places.
