Naturally I'll be taking it fairly easy for the first couple of laps to get a feel for the track. I generally don't like going faster than I feel I am safe to do so. I'm aware of the numbers that crash and the number of people who have died there on track days too. Its the most demanding and dangerous circuit bar none! Yeah, I'll be taking my time alright. Going around this track is something that I have been talking about for some time. I'll just be trying to gradually better my own time. I'm never going to get on the OCUK leaderboard, I can tell you that for free! :p Is it possible to rent out powerful cars at the track?

you can rent out cars at the track but it isnt cheap.

you will need a lot more than a few laps to know the circuit properly! it will take a couple of laps to get a rough idea and there will still be turns you arent sure about or didnt expect.:)

how about i give you a copy of the data files then!

this isnt some cheap g-meter jobby! as soon as you come to a standstill it resets for the next run so the only way to get a photo would be to take a picture whilst driving. thats not very safe now is it dave! :p

Awesome time!! :D Especially for a 'Skybarge' as some on here might say.

I didn't know you had an R33 GTR. What spec is it running for that sort of time as they aren't even close to that as standard :cool:
 
Fantastic. My housemate has a GTR33 which is near standard at 380bhp or thereabouts. He took it to a Skyline meet once and met an owner with a 600bhp GTR R33 that was black. I wonder if it's the same car?

Kev said the black one made his seem like a Skoda in terms of acceleration :eek:

No video evidence, but a 9'50 BTG in my E30 of powar... Also went out with Ron Simons from the 75 Experience in his 2.0 TS and have never seen anyone lap like that!

Almost went out with Dale in his blue MX-5 in the wet, but ended up in a MkII GTi with an Audi 1.8T lump wedged under the bonnet... That one was a little over 9 minutes but it was damp. Have a video of Biff in the Golf doing an 8'50, which is on the 'Tube.
 
this is a good thread, but what you should do is like others I've seen...

don't put a limit on the amount you list and include bikes.. will be funny seeing the truly fast cars mixing it with bikes, also interesting to see more mundane kit bring up the rear.

atm people who dont think they stand a chance wont give any results as it's not worth it.. at least with no limits on the list everyone can have a go at beating 'similar' cars.. ie: 'im good at launching 1.6 mondeo blah blah'

Woohoo, just got a vid off my mate who recorded 1 of my laps at the 'Ring last weekend and I did it in 10min 15 secs :D Thats with getting held up by a **** in a pug estate driving like an arse, and me having no brakes :D
Will upload as soon as I get back home.
 
Hmm, ok will have to resize this vid abit as I'm having problems finding somewhere that will host a 225mb, 11min vid.
Will try and get it uploaded somepoint today.
