Had this for about 2 years now - powering E6600, one 8800GTS 640MB, two HDDs and a Swiftech Apex loop.

Last night I flicked the switch on the wall socket, there was a spark, a pop and now the PC won't come on at all.

I've used a PSU tester on the HX620 and nothing happens.

Does it sound like it has blown or something?

If so, and i need a new PSU, any recommendations? I know this one is the most popular, but you'd understand if I fancied something else now!

I think there is a 5 year guarantee on them, at least I hope so, that is why I bought mine :)

Do you think it is normal for it just to go after 2yrs, or do you think some other factor has caused this and may well happen with a replacement eventually?

Hi sorry to bring this up, mine has just done the same after a year and a few months.

Switched the computer on is just made a cracking noise and then tripped the house electrics. Tried the PSU in another machine and with the paper clip method but there was no life in it!

How long do corsair take to get back to you? If everything is in the states the e-mail went at about 1.30pm their time (8hours behind) but I have only had the automated reply. Also anyone know how fast they can turn around the RMA.

Can I not just take the PSU off to OCUK (presume not as it is over 1 year)? - Just read closed thread a bit below in my search will contact OCUK anyway.

i dont think its common at all. You can RMA it but it'll have to go to america which is VERY annoying

i think yellowbeard the corsair rep posted somewhere on here that corsair now have a uk or european RMA center setup. so no longer do you need to send the goods to the USA for RMAing

I must say, I was going to move to corsair as my next psu, but after having my Noisetaker for 3 years, and it being secondhand when I got it, I might stick with Enermax :)

The Enermax Modu 82+ looks awesome!
