£40 = 8 Hours of HARD love with my baby

Yeah I have signed up on detailingworld and have been having a good read. I had never polished a car before today so although the chap products might not have been the best I was impressed with the result and I can look into doing it better next time. :)

yea I remember the days when I was using a sponge/chamois combo and the likes of autoglym srp and egp

like most things it's all a learning curve, with the likes of detailingworld speeding the learning process up dramatically

but at the end of the day, if you're satisfied with the results that's what it's all about :p

p.s. you get microfibre mitts from tesco for £1 which are ideal for wheels and exhausts

I'm hardly cleaning the wheels with sand. Putting the sponge on the floor was probably not the best thing to do and I will probably buy a new one for next time.

I also fail to see how you can make the assumption that i dont car about my car just because I made the mistake of putting the sponge on the floor and potentially getting some dirt on it.

.....because it WILL damage the paintwork, simple as.

sure, if you like the spiderman look

ignore them mate, if your happy that your car's clean then thats all that matters

Some people get far too OCD about car cleaning.

Your alloys are the same as mine but looks look non chrome and more milky than mine?

On mine you can see your reflection on!

Btw, the best way to clean them is to run a tisues along it, on mine brake dust just wipes clean leaving the reflective surface and no marks :p

The alloys were not in amaizing condition when I got the car so they could probably do with a referb eventually. I will see what i can do next time with some proper wheel cleaner. I did try wiping the brake dust off but some of it just didnt want to budge.

You can have mine if you want for a small sum, give me a reason to change :p

All those cloths piled up, sponge on the floor, horrid. You don't really take care with your equipment do you? I'd not be surprised if there was tons of tiny grit in your cloths and sponge, all needs chucking away tbh.

Not to mention the fact most of the stuff looks like the tat you get at a Carfax discount shop :p

You are both being supremely anal.

Nobody in the real world really gives that much of a crap how shiny a car is.

I have to say I clean my wheels with a sponge

One that has been "kept" on the floor?

I use a sponge (and two cloths, and some pipe cleaners) for my wheels, but they don't live on the gritty floor.
