Complete Waste of Space - Advice!

Fire him? Or don't you have the authority? If you don't either ignore and get on with your job or grass him up to management. Mind you if they are any good they should know, this isn't the Public Sector is it? He sounds like a job for life in that arena! :D

If it dosnt affect the op then I don't understand why he should care? If he was having to do more to make up for him then fair enough. As it dosnt sound that way surely he should mind his own business and worry about his own work and allow management to deal with the lazy git.

Report him (officially.)

If they are any sort of well managed company, it will be investigated and dealt with (either by Warning, Disciplinary, Suspension etc.)

I wouldn't let him bother you to be honest, just keep doing your thing and get on with your work - there is always gonna be people like this, learn to tolerate him and be thankful you're not like him

Seems to me that you do really short hours so coming in late should have zero tolerance from the boss even with an excuse. Ten AM is not exactly early and should't really require an alarm clock to wake up ready for work at that time of day.

Report him as soon as possible before other people take it from his example that they can also work as little as possible and arrive when they feel like it.

Had the same problem with someone who was in my team this time last year ... would get in at 10:20 every day, (was supposed to be in by 10:00 at the latest). Complained about it to the team leader several times and the guy was given several warnings.

Eventually we had other people leave and he found he was going to be expected to do work and no one was going to cover for him if he didn't do it due to laziness ... left about a month after ...

He was even getting in late when he lived about 10mins walk from the office (and still drove in) ... it was quite amusing when his car wouldn't start and he wanted to know if he could work from home ...

speak to your boss about it. Don't just casually mention, call your boss into an empty room and decidedly speak about it. Tell your boss you are concerned that there may be some problems at home or something.

I like people to tell me when someones taking the urine.
Because then I get the put said urine taker in his/ hers place.

May be a bit cruel but I do enjoy giving a good rollocking to someone who are knowingly not doing their job right.

So tell your superior.
Or mention it to a fellow worker and they might notice it and mention it if you don't have the grapes to.
You're not being a grass, it's like turning someone in for benefit fraud. It's not particularly frowned upon.

To be perfectly honest, it's got naff all to do with you. Unless, of course you're all part of team undertaking project work and he's not picking up the slack he should be, affecting everyone else's workload.

If he's got his own stuff to be doing, his own targets and agendas, then it's absolutely none of your business how he chooses to go about it.

If hes earning the same coin as you, and not getting any backlash from his behaviour, then the fella in question is a smarter man than you :)
