Wrong. Of course Alonso and Gerrard are good enough to be in the final, the problem is our other players arn't good enough (Riise was the sole reason we where not in the final.)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Go easy on the ale mate ;)

i will next time, but my point still stands, if gerrard and alonso were good enough they'd be in the final, they werent.

at the end of the day liverpool are maybe a top four team at best you lot have delusions of grandour.

and would chelsea or man utd swap our midfielders for yours ? of course not. (thats why we were in the final and you werent ;) )

It's strange how not many football fans rate Carrick that highly, you never even heard a lot of Tottenham fans raving about him when he was back at Spurs, yet Utd fans will tell you he's their best CM. Says a lot about how good your choice of centre midfielders really are.

Its been said by Loki but Carrick was awesome for us, and signing him so cheaply was a cracking bit of business on our part, then not so good selling him so cheaply to United either.

Carrick is one of the unsung heroes who goes about his job on and off the pitch without drawing attention to himself, and it is for this reason why people slate him for not being any good.

He was the reason why we finished 5th and were pipped at the post for 4th, 3 seasons ago. You could clearly see the difference in our game now he has gone.

Great game and some real good football by both sides at times.
Drogba and Malouda can both **** off and continue their gay fling in another country as far as I'm concerned, one can't be bothered and let's his team mates down too often and the other is just pointless.
Joe Cole was an idiot all night when he should've just got on with his football.
Can't really blame Essien for getting done a couple of times as he's not a RB.
The officials had a fair game too, apart from when Rio nearly took someones head off just inside the area and the lino flagged for high feet but bottled the decision.
Penalties are always a bad way to lose and I felt really sorry for JT and Cech:(
I was really proud of a few performances, JT, Cech, Maka and especially Lamps who has been outstanding and has been a complete professional during his turmoil, we'll be back.

Carefree:)

Brilliant night! :D

Firstly i'd just like to say that I hate winning on penalties. It's just not fair at all really and I don't think the biggest prize in European football should be decided on "guesswork" spot kicks. It leaves people like JT and Anelka utterly destroyed and it's not nice to see.

Overall I thought it was an even game, although it was just nice to see an improvement on the dross that was the FA Cup final between these teams a couple of years back. Some really good, flowing football on display.

Going to go nurse my sore head now. :(

The Chelsea players were disgraceful last night!

Harrassing the referee and getting in his face at every opportunity. Joe Cole ran around 13k, but I bet around 8k of that was chasing the ref! (lol)

Chelsea should have the book thrown at them, especially as its not the first time that they have been pulled up about this sort of behaviour.

Having said all that, as a Liverpool supporter, the lesser of the two evils won last night. Will be interesting to see which Chelsea players stay now and even if Abramovich stays, especially as he surely now realises that he cant buy the Champions League.

Congratulations Man Utd!

I agree with semi-pro waster, Makelele was lucky to still be on the pitch.

If Ronaldo had carried on the same way he played in the 1st half, he would have been MoM hands down. As it was, Id say Ferdinand possible.

Makalele is a vicious so and so - admittedly he did have Tevez around him all night, but some of his tackles were yello cards at least

If a defender's leg/foot is high but doesnt connect, is it still an offence?

I remember one incident when Joe Cole was against Rio and he went in high (without connection) linesman's flag was iniitially shown but withdrawn when JC got the advantage anyway (and wasted it)

Cant remember the one against Malouda but dont doubt it happened.

Still cant believe it - really hope the majority of the squad stay together for several years (its inevitable that Ronaldo will go, but I dont think it will be for a year or two hopefully)

Absolutely amazing night :D :D :D Still nursing a hangover at home, need to be in at 1315 :(

Was a great game from both sides. Penalties are cruel. I couldn't watch most. Still can't believe it. :D

Walkabout was rammed, I got there at 1430 and they had to close the doors at 1630 :p

You not living in Wigan anymore?

Nah, I moved to Castlefield in Manchester last July :) Still work in Wigan though which is a bit stupid :p Need a new job.

I was so drunk watching this last night but I remember applauding Man Utd.

They deserved it overall I feel, but why oh why was JT taking that pen? Kalou should have taken it.

Well done Man Utd though, worthy winners as much as it pains me to say it :p
