To be honest I felt a bit let down and I would have much preferred going to the British Museum where they have a fantastic collection.
There is about 8 rooms with stuff from before Tut and then the last 5 were dedicated to Tut and some bits that were taken out of the tomb.
Obviously everybody was expecting the famous Tut mask to be there and it wasn't.
I'm glad I've been but I'm gladder that somebody else paid for it.

(This is only my view and not fact).

I thought it was a spectacular exhibition. Some truly stunning artwork and detail on some of the jewellry, particularly when you consider the age of the items. (As my dad put it - "amazing considering we were all living in mud huts back then").

I found the 'layered coffin' explanation very interesting.

Do you mean the film they showed on the wall?
I think the video came later. There was a room with a basic shell of the coffin with the layers marked around it on the floor. Most people were walking straight through because they thought nothing was there. It took me a few minutes to realise the floor was covered in lots of concentric rectangles around the shell.

The finely woven gold and precious stones on some of the jewellery was stunning.

Were they around the basic coffin where the image was projected from above?
I'm not sure but something tells me there was rectangles on the floor around it.
That was in the same room as the video.

Every piece was stunning but my faves were the calcite carvings.
I also liked the little game.
