Any online cinemas?

Online cinema? Will never take off. The entire point of going to the cinema is that you get to see the film in much better quality and on a much larger screen than you do at home. Don't think people are gonna pay to download a movie which they could pirate, when going to the cinema is a much more obvious option.

Could you not say roughly the same about downloading music? If the price was right, was easy and the quality is good enough it'd work! Lots of people don't really want to break the law.

Well i can't watch the movie in pirated form because it's all ****. I want high quality video that I can pay a fee for...

But the only option is to listen to music on your own stereo system, which creates a viable market for delivering music online. Unless the downloads are loads cheaper than a cinema ticket, I don't see why most people wouldn't just go to the cinema and experience the film in much higher quality, rather than paying for something they could get for free. It'd work as a replacement for DVDs (a kind of back catalogue of films) but not as a replacement for the cinema.

Can't beat going to the pics on opening weekend.

Urgh, I hate going to the cinema when a film has just opened. Surrounded by all those noisy people rustling their damn wrappers and chatting away through the film.
