Right, got my new pc bits all in the case ready to install windows.

Core 2 Duo E8400
Abit IP35 Pro
Crucial 2GB PC6400 DHX

Pc won't switch on ! Eventually realised that the easy switch cmos clear was set to " clear " on the back, put it to default and the pc turns on.

Now, I've got my two raptors inside the pc and have set them up as RAID 0 128kb stripes..

I start the windows setup utility and run the drivers off the floppy disk for the raid.. then it says " starting windows setup " and I get the BSOD !!

Arghhhh :mad::mad:

Nothings overclocked, ram and cpu voltages are set to manufacturers specs, I'm tearing my hair out here !

Please please help :o

EDIT - Just found this > http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17783643&highlight=IP35+Pro+BSOD nice on him to let us know of he fixed it

Did you try loading bios defaults after you first booted it up?

Have you got the latest bios as i'm sure it's only the latest bios which supports 45nm cpus?

Set memory timings manually and voltage as ip35pro only set to 1.8v when in my case they need 2.1v

Hi, thanks for your reply :)

I'm not sure whether its the latest bios or not ! It knows that the cpu is an E8400 though ,

I've also just tried set the ram to 2.10 volts as it says on the side of the sticks, but it just BSOD'd again ! :(

what a crunk of junk, I hate Abit now..

I've had to delete my raid partition, set the sata mode to IDE and install windows on one of my raptors only,

I wanted it installed on them both as Raid 0..

Not impressed !!! :(

Currently formatting one of the raptors so I can install on it.. fingers crossed it will install so I can play games tonight and then try and create a raid array tommorow for a fresh installation !

Realy suprised that nobody else wants to help :(

I'm currently on said pc now.. I installed Windows XP on one of the raptors in the end.

I realy want them in Raid 0 though !

I'd attempt creating your own Win XP disc with built in SATA drivers using a combination of driverpacks and nlite.

http://www.driverpacks.net i think.

And do a search for nlite.

Basically takes all the ball ache out of finding decent/working device drivers for your motherboard when installing XP.

Done one today on a SBS 2003 disc because it was causing a BSOD to appear on a PC we were trying to install it on at work.

Was perfect, seen the RAID drive we'd created etc...and didn't BSOD!

it's an Intel chipset & Intel drivers ... (& an MS OS ).
You will find tales of hdd incompatabilities (esp. with Raptors) on pretty much every mobo with ICH9R.
what's odd though is that they are fine for most folk but just a few have problems.
For some writing zeros to the whole HDD seems to help installing.

it's a Bank Holiday Friday, it's a forum of users not paid support staff & you've only had a few hours so far.

Thankyou very very very very very very very very much, It worked !

used Nlite to add a few Intel sata drivers and other things, created a disk and installed windows from it, perfect :)
