Finished School

Basically you want to get really good marks at AS level, because it's easier, yet worth the same amount overall and when you do your A2 exams, you're bound to get lower marks.

Know what you mean, doesnt give people whos strength is acedemic much justice.

Fixed.

A level exams are a case of how well you can remember what mark schemes want you to say, based on past papers you've seen, it's not a test of intelligence, it's a test of how good you are at jumping through hoops.

Year 11? Oh wait, england does it weird.

yea that's what i was thinking.

when i finished 5th year (year 12) i was so happy tbh, not sad at all cause i knew everyone i liked was coming back for sixth year

lower 6th year is awesome, really having fun, not half as much work as year 12

So, you guys do 4 years at high school(GCSE), then another 2 years at a separate school(A Levels) then Uni? We just do 4(Standard Grade) to 6(Highers) years at the same high school.

5 Years at secondary school, then 2 years in 6th form, either at the same school, another school or college.

Know what you mean, doesnt give people whos strength isnt acedemic much justice.

Why else would you be taking exams? The whole point is to test academic strength.

All my teachers say that gcses are really important and play a part in the rest of your life, do you agree?

Another thing i found it people have grown up loads in the last few weeks, its so strange, they used to be idiots.

I do agree, yeah, to a point. As others have said, they are a vital stepping stone to A Levels and many careers. It's worth investing time in them to make sure you get good revision practice and exam technique too. Actually quite winds me up when people say they're not important - at the time, they are the most important thing you do. If you supercede them with A Levels, fine.

I've noticed a proportion of our idiots have matured somewhat too - it's that creeping sense of realisation. Shame it won't make a blind bit of difference now.

I finished a hard day at work, How did you guys feel when you finish a hard day at work?

Discuss....

Come on guys, give the lad a break. He's obviously got mixed emotions at effectively finishing compulsory schooling. I expect when most of us finished Y11 it seemed like a big deal.

Enjoy the long summer :)

Err... So you're telling me that I could have told my school to f off when they wanted me back in the 4th year? As far as I was concerned it was compulsorary to complete A levels. Edit: 5 years of secondary school was what I thought was the norm....

PS What's year 11? We didn't use this system...

I'm sure it's super emotional for you now.... late bloomer ? :p

Year 11 is the year that you finish GCSEs, it's your 5th year in senior school.

We don't use this sytem either, but I'm worldly enough to know things like that :p
