Hi,

Just seen this on car audio security and looks to me like a decent package to add some bass to my car audio. I was looking into getting an Infinity active bass tube thing as Ive read they are pretty good but this is cheaper and even comes with a wiring kit.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to anything audio related. Is this any good or would an infinity basslink be a better bet?. I also cant seem to find many basslinks, they're sold out on car audio, is there a new revision coming?

I don't really want to spend much more than a ton so would like the best i can get for this budget.

Seperate Amp and a decent 10"/12" sub is what you want. Had Bazooka tubes in the past [supposed to be some of the best] and they have nothing on a decent Amp/Sub combo.

I currently have a Kicker DX 300.2 and a 12" Kenwood and the bass they produce is incredible.

I thought JBL were considered good kit for the money?, sure Ive read that on here in the past.

What would you recommend for around the £100 mark?, don't really want to spend much more that that.
 
Its like everything else in life,you get what you pay for. If i was you i would save a little longer and get something a bit better. Kicker do a Amp Sub package for £200 that will leave you breathless in comparison to budget kit.
 
This set was £399 though :D, I'll have a look round, i might be willing to pay a bit more if it is worth it.

lol:o id just love for you to come round and hear my 15" jbl in my living room. for the price they are exceptionally good subwoofers. the old GT series used to suffer from tinsel lead failure but ive heard of no such problems with the new GTO's or the other ranges.

I have, Ive put some 13cm Infinity reference components in the front. They didn't increase the bass at all and in fact reduced the bass. They do however sound a lot clearer and crisper than the stock speakers. Plus when i turn it up now they don't distort.

I think with a sub it will be the perfect combination of clear vocals etc coupled with the bass. At the moment it sounds a bit tinny no matter what i do with the settings on the HU.

Cant seem to find any kicker sub/amp packages on CAS site, i'll google it.

and i would love you to listen to my meridian m1500. horses for courses. The JBL stuff is poor for in car use.
 
I dont think car subs can fill decent size rooms. I have tried a JL audio 15W3 in a box (it was a car sized box tuned to 32hz) in a 11' x 13' room and it sounded naff, even compared to my really crappy kenwood SW500

a subwoofer is a subwoofer weather its aimed toward the car market or the home audio market.

what does that have to do with anything? car subwoofer can be anything from 1 to 8ohms typically, and so can home subwoofer drivers.
 
James i have seen your many posts in the AV section.Please dont try to lambast me with ***** because it is late. I worked for Quad,Mission and Boothroyd Stewart [Meridian] and have enough knowledge in hifi without resorting to car over dedicated home kit arguments.
