gonna put it into my machine in abit and see if it helps the temp :D the tine stock fan keeps the card at 50C idle/65C load for reference :)

lol.. GJ :D

where did you get those bracket parts, especially the long arm? was it for something else? is that just a heatsink under the fan?

your diy fan must be suspended without even touching it.

I did a diy effort on my 8800gtx recently, tying a quiet 80mm case fan under the bottom of the gtx fan, to help bring in cool air, I tied it on using the black coated wires you get that tie cables and bags together, works fine except I could only get the fan over half the gtx fan because of my x-fi in the way.. at least the other half of the case fan is blowing onto the components at the end of the gtx :)

it has made a bit of a difference I think, but I might remove it again to double check the difference.

hehe, cheers :D

the long arm is part of my heatsink's mounting kit (Thermaltake Big Typhoon) and the right-angle bit is from a HDD mounting kit :p and yes, its the stock heatsink underneat the fan

done something similar to cool my ram and NB as well, reduced the temp by 8C compare to passive :D

the big heatsink on the 8800GTS is Accelero S1 with 120mm Yateloon ziptied onto it :p
