Chris,

I don't understand why you've refused to reply to my previous mail to you. !!!! Let me know the status of the cheque you received, have you deposited it yet?. get back to me so that i can give instruct how to send the excess money to my ticket agent after you must have deduct your 1 month rent and 1 advance payment.

Waiting to hear from you.

Mrs Rose.

>> ok - i know this is long winded but my dad is really concerned as hes recieved a cheque but the name on it (you konw where you sign your name and its got your name printed below it) is from a bank. so my dad has refused to cash the cheque incase it bounces and some how they get his bank details like sort code. etc etc...

any advice on what my dad should do?

I've just got in after a few beers, but this line stood out to me even so "payment is based on certified UK BANK DRAFT CHEQUE which i've already informed my church co-dinator in Surrey UK 'Sponsor' to issue you the bank draft cheque"
When they mention other payment methods that is out of their control, I'd be cautious no matter what. I'm saying this without reading the entire message, and I'm sitting here swaying back and forth reading your post(Thank god for spell check haha :p). I'm sure someone could post a much more informative message, but all I'll say is be cautious.

Scam. No question.

Bad English. payment sent in advance. Apparently related to a church (to induce trust).

Scam, scam, scam. With more scam on top.

Sounds like a complete scam to me, be careful what you do now, if you are really that concerned then contact the police or take it to a bank to be verified

Forgot to add, this is just a variation on the eBay scam where the buyer sends a too large cheque, you cash it and send back the difference. The original cheque then bounces and you're out of pocket.

S C A M

But for laughs see if you can get her to send you a pic with a loaf of bread on her head (with "OcUK" written on it) to prove she's genuine and not a scammer :D Gotta love scambaiting :)

Scam for sure. 'She' seems to be avoiding your dad's question of who is 'her' church coordinator which seems odd to me. The rest of it stinks of something fishy, too!

I didn't even read as far as the Western Union part lol. Complete and utter scam, but sounds perfect for scambating, if you're into that sorta thing lol.

when ever anyone asks if something is a scam i never bother reading it just

Ctrl + f

Western

:D never fails.

scambait tbh

give her the address of somewhere but set out a cardboard box with whatever number you told her she is getting written on it

Sounds legitimate to me,

i just had an Email from Mrs Roses husband and it turns out hes a 100% bonified millionaire!!! but.... his funds need transferring over to the UK of which i`m helping him out with. Ive gave him all my bank details and hes soon going to deposit a large sum of money into my life savings account of which i can keep a hefty wad . woohoo ill soon be rich!!! :)

# include<stdio.h>
# include<stdlib.h>

int main() {
int scam;
printf("Can you reach her contact in surrey (y/n)?");
scam = getchar();
if(scam == 'y') {
printf("Possibly not a scam.\n");
}
else {
printf("SCAM SCAMMITY SCAM SCAM SCAM!\n");
}
exit(EXIT_SUCCESS);
}

as soon as it clears funds in your account you will deduct 1month rent and 1 month advance out of the money and send the remaining through western union to my ticket agent incharge of my travelling which is going to use to take care of my travels ticket & health insurance and visa.The cheque of £3,900 will be issue to you through my church co-ordinator as soon as you have forward me your contact details for the issuance of the cheque payment to you like these below

Should have alarmed anyone tbh.

Why does 'she' not just send two months rent to you, and have a separate cheque to the agent. Makes sense?
