Guy on 5 Live was jsut saying that there was a rumour in one of the papers he was reading today that Jose and Roman are friends again and that he may return back to the club some time in the future.

Any one know what paper that was in?
Saw that this morning, wasn't a huge article tbh. Was either The Sun or The Star.

Why.... ? He did an outstanding job, they are really kicking themselves on this one!

Chelsea is acting more like a faceless business corporation than a football club now in my opinion. No manager there would ever feel safe anymore. What kind of a working atmosphere is that? Ridiculous to be honest.

Kenyon to world class player - "Fancy coming to play for us next season, we'll give you £100k a week?"
World class player - "Who's the manager, Avram Grant?"
Kenyon - "Errr, yeah"
WCP - "Nah you're alright"
Kenyon - "Oh..."

I wouldn't say he did an outstanding job, although he did lose out in big competitions by very small margins.

It's not always strictly about the results when you're managing one of the big teams in Europe (although even if it was then you could say as close as they've got, the results haven't been there).

I don't believe for one second that Grant was the one picking the team sheets every weekend. I wouldn't expect to see Mourinho back either, the Sun... my God... enough said. A high profile manager will attract high profile players, the Bosingwa transfer is quite obviously another signing made by someone other than the manager, which happens a lot at Chelsea. Whoever comes in to take over the manager's job will have to accept that others pull strings in the background.

I seem to remember an article or interview with "The Special One" in which he said "I wasn't sacked nor is the door closed"

If he's really that specia,l a resurrection could be possible.

My prediction would be either Advocaat or Hiddink.

Will probably be Roberto Mancini.

He's free, and he's a few Italian titles to his belt.
