RTTS...This is how you roll...

As I suspected... ;)

Whatever you just googled, it started out as an aircooled and custom show and rapidly (within the space of two to three years) turned into 'anything and everything'. For the last 15 years, the vast majority of attendees have just been out to have a laugh. Whenever I've attended in the past, we've always got two or three cars, cut the springs, given them stupid paint jobs and done generally silly things with them. 10-15 people just having a laugh for a week.

The Golf and Sierra both look like examples of this...Examples of what has been the blood of RTTS for nigh-on two decades.

So an RTTS show is actually an excuse for anyone who has any car which has anything done to it atall to make it 'non standard' to come along and feel clever about it as people like you take photos....

Can I bring my Mondeo, the Drivers seat has been replaced, that makes it modded right?

???

Seriously loving that, vans are da sex.

Perhaps not..

Whatever you just googled,

I have lived rather nearer than you for some time..

it started out as an aircooled and custom show

Which is what I said..

Correct.

What, crap bangers? Agreed. The average RTTS attendee these days is just the conventional 'cruz' chav, who outnumbers whats left of the proper VW enthusiasts by 5 to 1.

I didn't take any photos?

Would you feel clever if someone took photos of your car? Does your life have such little meaning?

RTTS is an 'excuse' for people who like cars to have a laugh, look at cars, meet up with friends, talk crap, party, have a few drinks and enjoy themselves.

Can I bring my Mondeo, the Drivers seat has been replaced, that makes it modded right?

Nobody cares what you bring or whether it is standard or not.

However, if you go around with that attitude, people will (quite rightly) treat you like a complete penis.

Some real 'scene' abominations there. Bringing sand to make your own little beach for your car to look cool by in a car park on a wet weekend?

Would you feel clever if someone took photos of your car? Does your life have such little meaning?

No, but then I dont go to 'meets' for 'enthusiasts' in my 'standard' car...

It seems to me that this is more of just a group of friends meeting up for a chat, with a couple owning modded VW's.

We had a load of family round today, most people drove, one of them had a modded Punto, should I go and take photos of my driveway and road and post them on a forum?

Have you ever attended in any capacity? I used to live near a speedway track but I never went... ;)

Which is what I said..
No...You said aircooleds...It was always as much about customs as aircooleds. And by 'customs', I mean the gamut from cheesy, shonkily-modified Cortinas with murals an slot mags to genius works of automotive art.

How does this differ from Maccy D's carpark on a Friday night?

Because this winds you up until you're purple in the face and spitting phlegm at your monitor in apoplexy.

After all these years, you still don't know how funny this is. ;)

Nobody is stopping you. Do it if you want to.

This is the beauty of the internet. If you want to, go ahead and do it.

If you don't like the thread, click back on your browser. It really is that simple.

If you don't like what I post, then use the forums 'ignore' function. It is there for a reason.

If you lack the wherewithall to do either then kindly just **** off :)
