Not all good but balanced out by some being flat-out awesome. Prepare to level your hate-rays... ;)

The wheels on that are awesome.... in fact the whole car is awesome apart from the bonnet covering the headlights a bit... supposed to look mean? IMO makes it look a bit cartoony :)

I really do like a lot of the wheels in this thread in fact... Cheers for posting :D

Call me a noob, but what's going on here?

Do they deliberately put undersize tyres on or something to get that look?

The Bavarian Motor Works one. That's crazy!

Some really cool cars there, some I just don't like/get...but then I don't like this type of BMW anyway, I think it's ugly as sin.

It's a combination of things:

1, you want wide wheels with some nice dish and you want them to sit just outside of the arches.

2, you want to lower the car a lot.

By stretching on a tyre that is narrower than the rim, it allows you to keep the tread of the tyre within the arches and it also means that when you lower the car, the tread 'tucks' up inside the arches, meaning that you can go lower than if the tread spanned the full width of the tyre.
