I'm currently in the process of looking for renewing the insurance for my Astra. Even with 3 years NCB, it looks as though it is going to cost £550+ to insure. The car has lowered suspension and uprated shocks. For the same car without the mods, the insurance is much lower at circal £300 for the year.

Does anyone have any recommendations for insurers who won't penalise me for the lowered suspension?

Adrian Flux are your best bet. Worked out cheaper with mods declared for me, than it did without.

yup, delcared all mods and was still £300 cheaper that my old insurer direct line, and £1000 cheaper than adrian flux!?!?!

Me and my mates always get absolute terrible quotes from flux.

That's odd, Adrian Flux quoted me £700 less than anyone else

I'm with flux atm cause they were quite cheap, but i've heard claiming isnt fun!

try HIC, they offered a good policy even with track cover included!

I'm with Flux too and they've been by far the cheapest, friendliest and offered the best service/package so far.

I've never had to claim either - but I can't help feeling all the stories about bad experiences are just part and parcel of the "you only hear the bad experiences" thing - last insurance expert I spoke to told me that this was all in their past and they've been reforming and redesigning behind the scenes to smooth it all out.

Been excellent with the paperwork and what I want, too :) Very helpful!

My point was that Flux aren't it.

Got that right, half of their problem is the insurers they use, they're cheap because they use the worst insurers imagineable.

Still, so long as there are people out there who buy solely on price there will be poor quality insurers and brokers to meet the demand.

I just called Flux and got quoted £1500

btw, does the email in your trust work?

Someone hacked my aol account & I can't be bothered to try get it back.

Do you have my work email address?

My Motor cost me 80 quid, I could drop it off a cliff & still get more back as Scrap than I originally payed for it.
