Hi all,
I've got one of these free standing concrete panel, prefab single garages, which is resting on a concrete base.
When it rains quite heavily, the water runs in under these panels, in to the garage area.
Any suggestions on what I could used to block these gaps please, to make it water tight. I thought of using expanding foam, but im not sure if that would work.
:D

Thank you.

Jon

Silicon gel stuff squirted out of a tube! (like you can put round windows, baths, etc)

I did think of this, but im not sure really.
It would be messy to apply and rather expensive.
I also dont think it will 'grip' to the cement, either the floor or the panels very well.

Thanks,

J

Expensive? Its about £2 a tube, and you squirty it out like a gun, FAR less messy than any expanding foams ;)

Well its more than £2 a tube, last time I checked.
I recon 7-10 tubes @ £4 would be about the cost.

Probably just the one tube of expanding foam. IF, you think it would do the job in hand?

:)

Thanks,

Or if there are not that many panel gaps just fix some varnished wood which will look pretty to the gaps. I presume the rain is just forcing/seeping through. Just something to deflect the water.

MUSTARD!

failing that, some sort of waterproof sealant from in a tube. you can get them in poundland I think lol.

Small bag of cement, big bag of sand (sharp or somthing) and some of the waterproofing additive (comes as a thick gluey type liquid in bottles).

Mix it all up and generously shove it in all the gaps it should do the whole garage..

I'm no builder tho...

This has been a recurring problem with my garage. It's extremely hard to stop water finding its way back through again so I gave up trying to stop the water and now I channel it instead. I use a corrugated plastic skin to channel it to a gutter then drain it that way. It's the only permanent solution. Water is stubborn and will eventually work through any sealant you throw at it.
