Which did this in the next slot:

Which left Audigy2 like this:

mobo=Gigabyte P35 DQ6
PSU Tagem 580w (bottom of tower)
I inserted my old TV capture card (PCTV Rave 510) which I've not used in a year & after reaching Windows its wasn't available & the soundcard vanished too.
After closer examination see the pics above.
Fortunately the lower PCI slot still works & a XiFi gamer is working ok there atm.

This was 2 days ago & today the mobo/speaker started making a gargling noise which stops when the CPU or GPU is under load.
I've disconnected the speaker now & all seams ok, even overclocked.
I'm just worried the mobo will go crazy one day & destroy everything plugged into it?
Do you guys think its still safe to run it as it is?

To put the top hat on it all, I couldn't find any Vista32 drivers for the TV card anyway LOL.

sorry i should add the mobo carried on working with the burned slot, using another gfx in the 2nd slot - i never tried re-using the burned slot, i tried cleaning off the cards connector and re-using, that burned the 2nd slot. dont do that! in theory so long as the connectors in slot are not shorted the board should be ok. and so long as the connectors still make good contact with the correct pins on a card the slot should still work. but i wouldnt chance it.

I wouldn't use the slot itself, but I doubt that your mobo will suddenly fail one day, there's no reason why transient damage like that should be progressive.

I hopes water has not leaked, I keep a regular check on it now but not a drop.
The reservoir level is always constant too.

I dont think water leaked into that slot unless it can perform acrobatics, I hope it was not water.

I think that I would still start saving for a new board, you may even find that Gigabyte will help you out if you email them, worth a shot
