ArmA 1.14 patch - major changes - now no reason not to play

from someone who play's Project Reality mod for BF2, how would i feel going to ArmA?

it seems to be a possible successor,

ive gone from Delta Force : Land warrior, to Joint ops and then to BF2 and then to PR mod.

im very nostalgic for DFLW :(....

would be greatful for any comments

I didn't play either of those games much, but arma is in essence as military simulator. So it plays very clunkly like to bf2 engine, especially in urban enviroments, but is very satisfying. The vehicle combat is realistic aswell of course with a single maverick coming from miles away to kill your tank before you know it's coming.

havent played this game before. simply because at the time although it was apparantly pretty good but poorly optimized it would simply of never run on my pc at the time. may try and pick up cheap if its worth it.

I should really give Operation Flashpoint another go. I got it years ago when I bought myself a new PC (end of 2003 maybe), played a little bit into it but then got sidetracked and never continued. I've got the full edition too, with the two expansions, so there's a lot of stuff to do there.

The price you can pick ArmA up these days, I'd really suggest just opting for that. Good graphics and far far better performance than release. The campaign is maybe not as good but it's still a solid game worthy of playing.
