I think that’s one of the major problems with the game, it’s premise is interesting and not something done often in FPS’s, but it has none of the feeling you would expect from the great setup. Apart from a couple of big set pieces with familiar architecture in the back ground, it really could be anywhere in the world, standard looking streets followed by the typical tunnel section followed by some very “F.E.A.R” inspired subway sections and so on and so on. Also the graphics are really hit and miss, on the previously mentioned set pieces they are very impressive (as you would expect from the unreal 3 engine) but the normal run and gun of the game looks rushed, flat and uninspiring.
Also, for a first person shooter, it switches to the third person aspect every time you clime over a wall or up a ladder, which can really break the interactivity. They don’t even show the fact that although you change uniforms in the cut scenes you never change from the red shirt in the third person view. It also doesn’t show the weapons that your carrying in third person. This just feels very sloppy.
All said and done it’s your money, but I would suggest maybe if you haven’t tried Medal of Honor: Airborne or any of the Call of Duty games they are far superior!!
