I found the Worse 360 game ever

When I don't own a 360 and yet like to read 360 threads occasionally for curiosity's sake, it tends to be the only thing I can really comment on. :o

I have nothing against achievements by themselves - on the most part they've just unified something a lot of games already had - what gets me is the needless quest for a high gamerscore as though its worth something. I mean, come on, playing a game you don't even enjoy, for the sake of an arbitrary number? Surely you must see there's something slightly wrong with that?

I think i see where you're coming from an if i understand correctly then i agree. Why play a game you don't enjoy just to increase a number? Gamescores are a fantastic idea for games you DO enjoy, for example the previously posted Ninja Gaiden 2 achievements look like they could add loads to the game (i would have never thought of trying to complete ninja gaiden using only the vigooran flails, but now i think about it it would be awesome to try), i just don't understand people that play a game PURELY for the achievements.

If you havent unlocked achievements then you shouldn't comment. People see Gamerscore as a "high score" type way of battling against each other. The OcUK GT League table, provided by SiD :), is an indicator of this and some people enjoy playing games to get their points up so they can move up the table of rankings.

What exactly is wrong with playing a game you dont enjoy particularily, but enjoy the unlocking of achievements? You are still getting enjoyment from it, but rather than from the game being good, its the fact you are being "rewarded" with points so you can climb the leaderboard.

I can see why achievements don't appeal to people, but I can't see why people are so against them. (Especially when you have admitted you don't even have a 360!!)

I think it's one of those things:

Achievements make great games greater by adding in things you'd never think of doing, Crackdown and Dead Rising are 2 fantastic examples.

Achievements also make poorer games better by getting you to go off the beaten track and not just complete the game, which is often where certain games get better, Harry Potter for example.

Again, if you're enjoying the game, I don't have a problem with it. As I said, before achievements, most games had extra objectives and the likes already, and part of the fun of finishing a game was finding them all. I've 100%'d every 3D GTA for that reason, so I can understand the appeal in games you like.

Well firstly, because it's such an unbalanced system. As I said in another thread not too long ago, 1000 points in one game can take you an hour, while in Gears of War you may never reach it. So a higher gamerscore really doesn't prove anything. It's like forums where people obsess over post counts or similar. I just don't see the appeal in saying "Oh look, my unimportant number is bigger than yours." I realise competitiveness means almost all men do this at some point, but I just can think of more productive hobbies to do if you need that sort of thing.

Secondly, I just find the idea of doing something you don't enjoy for the sake of completion, a little bit shallow (and rather obsessive-compulsive). I bought FF:Tactics for the GBA a year or so ago, and played it rather intensely for a longish persiod. But after a while I just forced myself to stop, because I realised I was playing it purely to get my characters up to the next level, not because I enjoyed the game at all, and if I wasn't enjoying it, what was the point?

It's just grinding, pure and simple, and that just doesn't appeal to me.

And sorry for clogging up another thread with this again, but I'm only responding to what was asked of me!

Yes it can be unbalanced but people can see what games you have played and such so it doesn't really matter. People who have 1000 from Avatar (:o) aren't going to be as proud as them achievements as the people that have 1000 from Call of Duty 4.

and that just doesn't appeal to me.

Exactly. Each to their own ;)

Achievments F.T.W!
Yes, I've played Lost, KingKong & Avatar just for the GS, and I feel dirty for it :p but it also means I'll play games I'd never dream of picking up.
Its exactly the same as back in the day, when you had to have you name on the high-score table in the arcade!

Anyway, back on topic....
Surely the worst game on the 360 is found on Live Arcade? (MS are clearing out the worst sellers soon)

I have fusion Frenzy 2 and it has never been in my xbox lol I don't even know if it has been opened.

If you ever feel like getting all 1000 achievements off it which 700 of are very easy to get I could help you get the last 300 online ones. I've tried for several days to find some one to play the Online tournament and Custom game but I've had no luck whatsoever.

Bought king kong from where I work for 99p ... could have had a double mars bar ffs !

1000 achievement points - nice. Actually having to play the game - waste of my life, would now have prefered the mars bar.

Terrible game even at 99p !

King Kong was a good game, i actually completed it on the ps2 when it came out, it wasnt good enough to go through again on the 360 (although i tried), but for a one play through, it was a good fun varied game.

Controls and camera are terrible! One of the most painful gaming experiences I've had; I couldn't face playing it all the way through for the final 200 GS

You cant have played that many games if it was the most painful gaming experiences you have had, i think most reviews of it gave it about 60-70%. Which id agree with.

I didn't find King Kong all that bad, admittedly it wasnt the best game ever but I thought it was just an average FPS.

hehe true, but i did say "one of" not "the most" :p
Its on par with Lost (Via Domus) for me, 40% - a generous 50% cos it does look nice in places. & TBH your talking about the PS2 version which I'd imagine it would seem better ;)
