Ok so this is a rant thread so if you don't like it please turn around now.

I have had 3 parcels ordered this week, the first was on Monday (Bank holiday I know) from GHD with free next day delivery, now I knew that this wouldn't be here until Wednesday on their RM SD before 1pm it is still not here and the most anyone can give me is "It should be with you tomorrow" great :-/

The 2nd is from OcUK (this isn't a whinge at them) via City Link, this was supposed to be delivered before 5:30pm today, I have been checking the site for updates and since 11am this morning it was out for delivery, "Great", I thought, at 5:30 the website changed saying "Could not deliver" now I work at a large company with 24hr deliveries and a 24hr Security/Receptionist so if they did try to deliver it someone would have been there, but nope I have been told he could not find the building even tho they are only 4 or 5 companies on the street and Saipem is by far the biggest.

The 3rd is a random company sent out for next day delivery today via parcel force, I have been given the 2nd of June as a delivery date

Now how in this age can companies who offer this service get away with continual abuse of it?

with Royal Mail, if you haven't had it before 1pm on the Wednesday, you can claim to get the postage refunded

You work at Saipem?

I've got some of your drawings on my desk from the Kizomba project. How odd :p

back on track, yeah delivery companies are pants, i've had CL do that to me before, pretend they couldn't find it.

Kizomba A or B?

I think B is being ran from the London office or it may even be offshore.

Nothing to do with me tho :)

If you see anything for MedGaz it will probably be my work (If structural)

I had City Link let me down today too. Rang them up and they said "Oh it'll be tomorrow now, it's been sorted to the wrong depot". Guy couldn't care less that I'd taken a day off to sign for it (and errm play it, Rock Band!).

I rang the place that I bought it from and told them I wanted my delivery fee refunding as I paid for express delivery, didn't get it, and isn't my fault that their couriers are useless. They refunded me instantly.

Still doesn't stop the frustration away though. It isn't the money, it's when people promise a service and don't deliver just cause some git threw my parcel on the wrong van that gets me.

I got a slap in the face with delivery today too (Not from OCUK). Ordered something for "Within 5 working days" on sunday, and I got an email this morning saying it had only just been dispatched. Which means it probably wont be here for the LAN tomorrow

Was going to make a thread about this yesterday aswell.

My Overclockers order placed on monday so I was expecting delivery on Wednesday.

Now I live in a block of flats so I pretty much assumed that when they saw they would have to use an intercom to get in they would say "couldn't gain acess" or something. So my flatmate decided he would work on his car and I helped so we would be outside the front door more or less from 10 till 5:30.

So we were at the door practically all day. Come 5:30 no delivery. Check online and they have the cheek to put up, "recipient not home , carded".

Thankfully car was sorted by 8 so could make the 30 min trip to the depot before they closed.

My preferance for parcel companies is no longer speed of delivery, I pretty much assume I'm going to have to collect it so I choose by proximity to depot.

Hahaha I do the same thing, I avoid amtrak as it means a 30 mile round trip. City Link and Drop it Hold it Lose it are ok because they are near to work.

Posties here don't even attempt to deliver stuff, you get a slip and told to get it from the depot down the road (about 2 miles away). Even RMSD stuff isn't even attempted, I've never seen any posties carrying anything other than small letter and every parcel I've had delivered to the house has come disguised as a "you weren't home" card that they handed to me when I answered the door!

I can't believe that. If we tried to pull that stunt at my delivery office, our manager would be having a 'polite' word with us.

Unless there are official reasons, a postman has to attempt the delivery, even if he/she knows that the recipient won't be in. To not even bother almost counts as 'wilful delay of mail' in my books. Get down to your delivery office and demand an explanation, or better still make it official and contact customer services.

For sake of balance I would say that I've not had any grief with courier firms, be it Parcel Force, City Link or *shudders* Amtrak. Even Royal Mail have been quite reliable. ;)

Tbh it will probably be with you tomorrow. In my experience with the company it probably is they don't post until a day before but it gets there next day.

That is two working days so I can't see the problem assuming it was sent by Parcel Force 48 (or 24 but after the last collection).

They have got till monday and it will still be within the time limit due to the bank holiday

I've ordered something tonight (7:20pm) and it's being delivered tomorrow! Win!

Never order over the bank holiday period.. you're asking for it :(

If it gets there tomorrow that's VERY good, for a company to have a collection that late and still meet linehaul to the nearest sortation hub is some going.
