Wrath Of The Lich King Alpha

I don't really see the appeal, I'd rather wait until the final version is available than play a buggy/incomplete version and ruin the surprise.

The client is free to download by anyone, but you need a code for it. Unless you know or are related to Blizzard employees, you aren't going to be playing on it.

Basically you download that, install it and change the realmlist to point to a private server which is running a hacked version of the WOTLK so you can play it without logging into blizz servers, its the official alpha, just its bugged to hell.

Also, when people say "Friends and Family" I don't think everyone realises just how big that sample is. It's not just friends and family of blizzard employees, but all kinds of random people. For the BC Alpha I remember a bunch of the top WC3 players all having keys, etc.

Although having said that anyone who tells you they're in the official Alpha is probably wither lying or mssively breaking their NDA.

I recently got into the Warhammer Beta.

Part of me wants in so I can get to have an early play on it.
The other half wishes I hadn't, because it kinda ruins it for when you get the full game.

Its the first time I've gotten into a closed Beta since WoW first came out, and I don't think I'll bother again....

I'm in the F&F Alpha for WOTLK, I can't disclose any details but it's shaping up very nicely so far imo, way better than TBC was for the zones/quests

p.s just taking it easy not rushing through it, don't wanna completely ruin everything for release :)
