I'm currently looking for a new car and the Mazda 2 new shape seems a good bet, won car of the year and all the reviews I've read have been quite good. I'm looking at the 1.5 Sport 3dr model.

I'd be going from a 53 reg 1.2 Corsa!

Anyone own one or know someone with one?

Thanks

Don't know about the Mazda2, but I have been thinking about buying a Mazda6 recently, and I think Mazda as a make is pretty strong in terms of quality and value.

Rgds

Don't own one or know anyone who owns one, but I think its a cracking looking car and probably the best looking supermini on the market at the moment.

They seem to have got good reviews I believe, and shares the same platform as the upcoming Fiesta. However can be expensive when specced up :(

i had a 2 for a courtesy car a few weeks ago, it was a 1.something Ts2 (1.3 maybe), coming from my mondeo it was a bit basic inside, had electric windows at front, didn't like the interior much tbh, a bit too quirky for my liking. driving wise, it lacked any performance but that was expected from a small engine, it seemed built well, no rattles to speak of.However i personally wouldn't buy one but they are built on a reliable platform and different to the usual corsa etc.

Yup its a light car.

Will be test driving the sport version soon, just need to do some saving! Insurance is pretty cheap too, £450.00 fully comp for the sport.

Looks funky enough but, quite how they came up with a price of around 11 thousand pounds for the 1.5 sport I will never know.

11k buys a new Fiesta ST if you want a 'supermini'

You cant compare it like that

Mazda2 1.5 (103PS) Sport 3dr Released 2008 @£11,399

Ford Fiesta ST 2.0 3dr Released 2005 @£13,577

The Mazda2 includes DSC and TC, Cruise Control, Multifunction Steering Wheel, Climate Control, Auto lights/wipers. Remember this is all at launch and are expensive extras on the Fiesta if even all are available.

See what I mean?

There will be marketing allowance etc, no one pays list price on this sector of cars unless you're a chump.
